KeymasterYeah I know, the personal remarks were a bit much to take IMO as well and I said so. I will also not be telling you what to or not to say regarding DASA, it’s up to them to respond sensibly.
It casts a very poor light on DASA when the response is something like that.
The way things are going though I have to admit I’m thinking very hard about signing a cheque for DASA.

KeymasterRe: DASA!
It seems impossible to leave DASA alone.
Whilst I appreciate the comments and input on the subject and I also think that DASA needs resolved one way or another I think it’s best we stay away from it for now. There is nothing to be gained by presecution of it.
Whether or not DASA survives is up to two people, Jason and Mark. If they walk, DASA folds, it really is that simple. Whether they want that burden or not, well I dunno, but it is their call really.
What I can see is the membership dropping and it’s a trend that’s been in effect for some time now and whether at this stage it can be reversed is doubtful at best. You see, DASA has really nothing to offer other than an exclusive little club IMO with the odd meeting that may be of some interest to some people in the industry. Both Mark and Jason are extremely restricted in what they can actually do with it due to both the internal politics and the rules of the association. So change, if there is to be any, will come slowly and at a price, as was shown by the number that left after CH was terminated.
I dunno, maybe it can be saved, but what I do know is that there had best be something worthwhile in it relatively soon or it is doomed so far as I can see.
And no, UKW will not be taking over.

Chris please put the booze back in the cabinet! 😉
I am reliably informed that there are three quality levels that the machines are built to, the best is reputedly pretty good but I’ve not seen one as yet.

KeymasterThe E2 can be intermittent (boy we just love those intermittent faults…NOT! :?) but generally when it happens it tends to keep happening, there are a few things that can cause the fault to occur though.

If there’s any hassles come back to us but generally it’s preferable to get someone that’s familiar with these products as they can be a bit tricky at times.

KeymasterDave,
It’s an E9 error according to the sheet I have although that code displayed can also be E1, handy eh? But that’s only on the earlier timers…
On the later ones it’s our old pal, the E2 error (that’s two tonight alone :?) and it’s really an engineer case to solve the problem, it’s not a DIY fix IMHO. From what you describe it’s an E2 fault, if you search the forums you’ll get loads of info on it.

KeymasterHi Gibbo,
It is a very strange problem that you describe, in fact I’ve never seen one do that before.
Are you sure that there’s no error lights?
If it just fills then empties then it sounds like the old E2 error and you’re gonna need an engineer to call I’m afraid.

KeymasterOliver,
If you search the forums for “E2 error” you’ll get the answer, many times over. 😉

KeymasterIf you give MFI/Extracare a ring they should be able to sort that out for you.

KeymasterNope, it’s not a record at all Martin.
We used to regularly wait 6 months plus for spares for the Kelvinator US fridge freezers from Grand Rapids.
I have recently waited 3 months plus for certain spares, including for under warranty repairs.

KeymasterYes, nothing like using a poor design with shoddy build quality, not exactly a recipe for success.

KeymasterYes, thanks Martin a close relative of Tracey’s was whipped from one hospital to another last night so I’ve been a bit pre-occupied today with that and not been around much at all.
And Rotherham lost… so did Kevin then. 😉
