KeymasterRe: Freezer has stopped freezing
Sounds like a compressor failure to be honest if its running but not cooling.

KeymasterRe: Access clock fuse
Milano is the style, 100 would usually refer to the width, i.e., 100cm but I’m afraid that’s not an actual model number.
There is no fuse in the clock on any of them though that is replaceable.
It is possibly an overheat thermostat or the clock itself but any of us would need the correct model number to look it up and see what the layout is for you.

Not quitte Martin.
There’s enzymes in there that break down grease, fat and so on that operate at under 40?C.
And you’ll find a number of “hard pressed” tablets and some not so much won’t dissolve correctly if you use hot water, negating the all-in-one effect.
Hence the stock advice that it’s not really a good idea.
I didn’t know about the heat exchanger thing though, never heard of that before, an interesting one nonetheless.

On an RCD that’d likely have tripped the RCD a long time ago.
But no, Bosch will just say it’s a failure due to age and won’t want to know I shouldn’t think and, in all honesty, it’s realistically a bit much (maybe even unreasonable) to ask them to take much to do with it at the age and with the circumstance.

The dishwasher can yes, technically in most cases.
The same cannot be said for all the detergents. You also need to check that you are using an appropriate one that is suitable for use in those conditions as many are designed (like washing machine) to have a temp curve, not instantly exposed to hot or you degrade the cleaning effectiveness.
And yes, if on hot it may well invalidate some warranties.

Samsung really aren’t very good IMHO and, you’ll struggle to find many or even any of the guys to recommend them.
Looks great to customers with all the marketing whizz bang but, not actually great product. Their marketing is more reliable.

I don’t want to make light of it but, a fire?
In a washing machine there’s hardly anything that will go up and, even if it does have actual flame, it’ll soon burn out as there’s no fuel to feed a fire in there.
But without specifics it’s hard to say exactly what happened.
As to a replacement machine for that money that will last that long, all I can say is, good luck with that. In my opinion, other than for light use, there’s no chance of any in that range that will see out the same service as your old Bosch.

KeymasterRe: Display totally dead?
Yeah it’s to save a minuscule amount of energy to play to the energy labelling.
Madness in some ways but that’s what it should do.

KeymasterRe: Display totally dead?
There will be an energy save mode but it’d be regulated by the board Jim, not configurable and all it’ll do is turn off the lighting usually.
Other than that, the display is likely fried. 🙁

KeymasterRe: IOT enabled Engineers
It’s too early for most to see it yet, probably most of the repairers have not seen an IoT product yet. But they will.
Shipments are meant to increase of them by a massive margin by 2021 according to all analysis I’ve seen. I suspect that means they are to creep into stuff lower down the food chain, even Vestel has connected product due to be sold under the Sharp brand.
Are the guys expected to repair those for the same rate as they get for a basic £180 washer sold as a Bush from Argos? Would anyone think that even remotely sensible or a reasonable ask by the manufacturer?
Whether it happens or not isn’t really the question, it’s whether the repairers are ready, manufacturers also and everyone is on the same page with what it will cost to deliver service to them.

KeymasterRe: Lamona oven element query
If it’s this element:
https://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/2629000 … en-element
Most you can do from the front without taking the oven out but, if it’s not got screw heads you’ll likely have to pull the oven out the housing to replace it.

Yes, not really ever had any issue with Smeg cooking products.

KeymasterRe: Simple, solid cooker?
Not true.
The Smeg ovens, some I’ve used at least do tend to be “harsh” in terms of heat to a degree but, like most, you get used to it and adjust your cooking as required. In short, they can appear to run a bit hot but that’s about it really.
So far as I know they are all still Italian made.
