I don’t seem to have access to the tech on that model based on the model number. Do you have the serial number?

The fuse in the plug was what I meant.
look for obvious signs of failure like scorching on things first.

That does indeed sound like the bearings have failed. How bad it is and what’s needed would determine the cost to sort it.

That is just general dust, nothing to be concerned about.
If the machine is totally dead then the obvious of fuse but then you are into checking the mains block, interference filter, then power switch and/or door lock.

To be fair, that’s a good question, and if it were me, I don’t think I’d spend that on a unit that old.

If the unit is running all the time it’s probably the thermostat, it just depends on how cold it’s getting really as at times they can do weird things.

To be sure you’d really need temp readings from the freezer as I suspect that it’s running too much from what you describe but, is it the thermostat or something more nefarious

Sadly De Dietrich, as it was when that oven was made, no longer exists so there is no support, very few parts if any and I expect not too many people that would try to repair it due to there being no support or tech info.
