KeymasterCan you see if the insulation is wet where the sensor wire comes through as if so, as I suspect, that’s a big problem?

KeymasterI doubt whatever’s in there will come out that way or that you could be sure it was all removed.

KeymasterWhat hood is it as the obvious thing to do would be to strip out the motor unit and clean out any debris?

KeymasterNope, and I’d not recommend it.
Powder every time.
It’s just better, you control the dose and it causes far, far fewer issues than anything else ever will.

KeymasterI know a couple of people at Pacfica and I’m not sure what the play is here but, to do contract work of any kind without an agreement in place seems odd. Regardless of the rates, which I believe I’ve made myself plain on, to be doing work for anyone on a nod, wink, phone call, handshake etc is, well, iffy. It’s fine for one or two odd jobs here and there for a friend or such but anything more than that, not so much.
I did that for a supposed friend at a rather large international manufacturer one time; it cost me about £5K. It is an error I’d not repeat.
But £35, really… in 2024…
I was getting £33.90 plus VAT in the latter days of Zanussi service, the late 80’s.

KeymasterIt wasn’t inspired by this but this might be of interest:

I’d have knocked back a rate like that 20 years ago.

KeymasterIt’s a freestanding under-counter machine so it was highly unlikely to be frost free.
If you bought it on eBay or using PayPal you might be able to raise a dispute as it not being as described but from any other source as a second hand buy you might struggle to get anywhere.

KeymasterThat I don’t know but I can tell you that pretty much all parts for that machine are obsolete and have been for a number of years.

KeymasterI can’t think they’d have the volume to support that, especially not nationwide.

KeymasterI emailed you something that may help.

KeymasterYou’ll need the first part of the serial number to get anything on it as that model isn’t being recognised on their system.

KeymasterI am not aware of any changes to F&P, I’ve not heard anything at all.

KeymasterIt’s an old article, and there are others along the same lines with yet more info but this is a good enough place to start:
https://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/buying-advice/washing-machine/2912-wash-times-quick-washes
Essentially, you will not get a machine that washes the same way as an old one from the old days due to design changes and legislation.

KeymasterYeah, I’d not say that was unusual from what I can tell.
