Re: Whirlpool to do a recall on Hotpoint dryers

It’s by invitation through third party providers such as First4Service etc so, they’re taking a cut as well.

Martin, I’m not telling anyone to do anything, everybody can do what they like but I am entitled to my opinion just as you are.

Some do, Bosch do them but they are horrifically expensive, at least £70 and up.

Heh if they paid enough to mend them it’d be a boom time! 😀

    Bit of digging later…

Seems that’s the exploding tub thing they were on Watchdog about last year.

No, you don’t have anything to worry about.

I can’t recall that one though.

Hadn’t seen that one Andy and, not good news for WP/HP on the back of the dryer one.

No, I don’t really think he has either.

When I asked why bother with DASA he struggled to give any reason but then, as you kindly say, he is a bit flaky.

He’s also hawking out GIAS work, you know the usual cr4p they don’t want to or cannot do, at £40 a call for gas and fridge work. Methinks it’s wishful dreaming at that given the HP recall is the same money and, it’s a sh1t deal. 😉

Doesn’t make any sense as a fault code unless another one is flashing as well.

Re: Whirlpool to do a recall on Hotpoint dryers

Yeah, I missed the whole recall and the additional parts needed on inspection thing but, in my defence, with good enough reason.

There’s Jack Schmitt about it. Not a single mention of that on anything I’ve seen.

If I were a betting man, I think I know who I’d wager would end up carrying the can for that though.

If you are thinking on doing this you’ll need to drill down into all this stuff or you could get shafted on this one, big time. Most I’ve spoken to are retrieving their barge poles, if not trying to stop laughing.

    That’s new.

I was doing something earlier and it borked but, I’ve not managed to get it to repeat the error.

There again, some muppet was slamming the search with a massive query at the time, now limited. :rolls:

I spoke to Dave the other day Alex and he *thinks* he was involved at some stage but can’t rightly recall.

Re: Bosch, AEG or something else?

If it was my money… probably the AEG.

Parts are cheaper and easier and tech available to the trade, Bosch not so much or, at all.
