ParticipantRe: Samsung American. Inverter compressor question
Open the cover top right corner on rear of appliance. There you’ll see a large pcb with a red LED, on the back of the cover there is tech info which includes fault codes. You count the number of flashes, each fault will have a set number, that includes compressor faulty. Inverter compressors are more reliable, I’d check the fault first before going compressor changing.

ParticipantRe: Regas fridges yes or no
From my limited experience when something worth money appears on the market in reasonable numbers a sudden interest followed by national coverage will appear well before any independent gets a look in. The bigger the value the quicker the response. Knowhow whitegoods have been training on smart tech for a few yrs now which had involved boiler work by peeps who struggle to fix a whiteknight tumble dryer. So far not much has come of it as it’s more gimmicks than value to the consumer. But a new concept requiring fridge skills, yeah by the time an independent gets their training cert a national will have it covered.

I doubt it, C5 was a unique one of a kind product. Rebadging is just polishing a turd.

ParticipantRe: Thanks to the bank
It will always be someone else’s fault. The change in 2000 didn’t cause computer chaos, it changed people’s perspective from “shit happens” to “it should not happen”.

ParticipantRe: safety of induction hobs?
Your safe as long as you don’t lie on the hob, but unless your bones are the same density as your pans the hob will not function. When a pan is cooking deflected frequency is dispersed, you would have to be against the pan to have any affect you’d badly burn yourself before. So unless your stupid or prone to fainting in a rigid position, cannot feel pain and have a pace maker you’ll be fine.

You can run a fridge compressor for short periods without refrigerant.

ParticipantRe: baumatic bwd1206w dryer fault
There is very little right with them, as for common faults all appliances need to be properly checked by competent peeps. A simple washer dryer shouldn’t test a competent person, even if they never worked on one before.
