In 23 yrs I’ve probably repaired 00000000000000000000.1{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of what was sold, so my opinion on reliability is not going to be accurate.

Check your clock is not set to Auto function. Expensive mistake that happens weekly.
Switch off and back on, set time, you should get a symbol on display, looks like u with lines above.lee8

You could try the new LG induction models, as they have dramatically redesigned internal components it has allowed that wasted space to be freed up for a larger cavity capacity. Running costs also reduced.

Stick a £100 call out and £40 ever 15 min labour.
I did a phone call back to one once, they rang me at 9 ish, left a message. I was up at 4am going to Stanstead so l thought why not, rang the number and on second attempt guy answered really groggy and a bit grumpy. I was extremely polite and informed him l was outside trying to get access. He was not too amused.

Although l didn’t actually state which Merloni brother, so to be pedantic, I’m actually correct as a Merloni owned both Indesit and Asko.

I stand corrected then. Wrong brother. Still not a small player though and that was the point of my comments.

ISE machines where built by Merloni who owned the Swedish company that built ISE machines, they also own Indesit, Hotpoint etc. They sold to Gorenje in 2010, so ISE appliances where basically semi commercial products built by a big outfit. Any commercial product will outlast a domestic one, but you’ll pay for it. Bit like Redbull turning up to an amateur track day at Silverstone, your BMW M3 ain’t gonna compete, unless your doing the shopping or school run.
Appliances like all products will need maintenance, components have a life and each use will reduce that, like your car’s brake pads, clutch etc. Expecting your products to last without that maintenance does not indicate it’s quality and shouldn’t be a guide to future buying.
Bosch/Siemens has 4 factories operating 365 days a week. They worked out in one 24 hr period if one factory placed it’s finished products side by side each other they would stretch 5 miles in length. To keep people in work the factories need to fill demand and that means products cannot last for ever. It’s simple economics. As for what to buy in the future, look At what you need function wise, product appearance, price and keep in mind price not always reflects quality and brands buy in from external sources, a lot. There are maybe 5 ish sources yet the store may stock 30 ish products of various names.
Good luck.
Ps Siemens sold it’s share to Bosch. It was only ever a name partnership anyway, basic Bosch machines with extra sound proofing to make them less noisy but bigger profit margins.

Yup. Wasn’t just deliveries that let them down, seems many outside factors brought the company down, all beyond the management of industry experts control.

ParticipantRe: ISE10 washing machine broken- is repair possible now ?
The old how long will it last question, always misguided, misjudged and misunderstood. In my opinion most Asko machines will need work by three yrs, how long a person keeps repairing it is subjective. It’s life will end when parts cease to be available. How long an appliance will work before its 1st repair again depends on many factors, but having seen a few brands testing results 3 yrs would be about right for minor parts.
