ParticipantRe: burning worktops !
One thing i notice about fagor products, they made hobs with very large rings for the grand mothers to boil there Octupus for the required 5 hours, unlike the Balay/Bosch ones that would have the plastic base literally melted.

Its unlikely the hob under normal use would damage the worktop in this way without other indicators.
Pass it on to brand to sort and they can educate her.

ParticipantRe: Built in appliances compromise your ability to repair
The newer version has 2 access panels, u need a stubby screw driver, some practice. If its the older version your screwed and indeed need to remove side panels unless you pull forward enough to lean backwards leaving hoses in place, remove 4 base screws and pry base of and access underneath.

If its the dw im thinking of, you can use an alan key to flip the impellor free via the sump, this allows the pump to drain, although noisy. Then access pump securing screws from front base panel and remove, takes 10min and no need to remove the appliance.
Learnt from doing 10 calls a day for a brand doing mostly intergrated chinese products.
Theres always a right way and a cheat.

Having read his posts he came across as one of those arm chair experts, the belief your greater than the sum of your mass is a dangerous thought.
What he needs to understand l dont think he’d ever accept, which means he will never achieve anything other than a polite fcuk off.

I have around 150 + possible peeps in need of a library of universal fault codes.
A memory stick would suit our needs.

What about issuing info on memory sticks, most of us have a computor, gets rid of the cost to print and the inof should be easy to transfer from app media to it.

Personally i’d prefer to air on the side of caution and use a company that does all servicing and is therefore required to be gas safe.
That way at least if you survive an incident you dont look like a muppet in the coroners court.

Your caravan guy has a cert of competence, you’ve yet to state this, if not, there still in the brown stuff.
Competence and responsibility are the key words to understand.
My last uploads are taken from the Caravan Club, the fact sheet covers all forms, yours included and there advice is that of all the agencies.

“Change over” relates to the NG qualifications held by me prior to doing the LPG, being an experienced gas engineer l was not required to do the full lpg course. Had l only needed LPG and no prior gas experience then l would have a different course and code.
I’m not ranting by the way.
The law is obvious, clear on the HSE, Gas Safe register and the caravan club web sites, the confusion comes by people’s interpretation of what is required.
Advice is free, what you do with it can cost a great deal.;-)
