0800 the greatist part of the company, really amazing franchise well worth the cash.

They now fix, install and service domestic gas heaters, boilers etc, next thing you no they’ll have a forum, spares sales and a retail outlet.

I can just see it now, all bright and glowing with a really big tool on the roof.

As a concerned member of the Repaircare network, and a frequent user of this site, can I ask you lee, not to continue posting theories etc, they just rub people up the wrong way. If you have anything ‘Factual’ to post, please feel free, but other than that…!

    Adrian.

Adrian would you be happy paying a large amount of cash per call to an engineer who then passes the call to another engineer who then passes to another and so on, would you not want to pay the Engineer at the end of the line, the guy doin the work for a hell of a lot less than the first guy.

Middlemen always appear in boom times and are the first to go bust in downturns.

I cannot/haven’t add/added anything further, that reason should be obvious to all here.

What ever you feel about my content, it has no malice towards repair agents who are trying to make a living in difficult times.

Completely the opposite, I’ve been against “Companies” such as Repaircare for many yrs, for what i believed to be obvious reasons really, the ones we see today, its always been us grafters who suffer board room greed and arrogance.

So I take it DSG does not want Repaircare in its portfolio then, Repaircare didn’t tell them to stick the offer up their back passage and DSG isn’t using its might to force Repaircare into a financial hole.

I guess you’ll find out when it becomes public knowledge.

I guess when companies are middlemen, advertise their profits, the organisation supplying the work looks at its costs and decides it would be in its own financial interest to change its business portfolio, this is what happens when it does not go the way they wanted.

    I could be wrong.

    We’ll see.

Re: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?

Client today asked if I needed to use a torch, some how he didn’t notice the head torch, which was on at the time. 💡

Funny one also today, house being renovated by himself, a builder, new black tiled floor, highly polished floor, he was very very proud and nervous of any object touching it, asked if I would remove my shoes, nope I replied I’m not removing my shoes, so he gets a big sheet of sometype of insulation foam type cover, places it all over the floor, appliance is intergrated, with LED’s on the kickboard.

So I told him sorry mate, I’m not prepared to work on your floor, keep the call out charge, I’m off.

So I left, learn’t how to read people and even if I wanted to spend all AM moving his appliance around with the upmost care and attention, he’d be on his knee’s afterwards and the slightest scratch, mark anything, he’d be after all sorts of hassle, no that one is best left alone.

    What a pr**k.

My favorite is the middle aged garden shed hangerounder, has a tool for everything and a knowlwdge far beyond that of any Scientific brain, the type that will spend several hours working out how to solve a simple problem.

Maybe they should have understood my comments on Repaircare a few months ago.

    I’m actually giving good info.

I wonder if the Repaircare directors recieved an offer they really should have taken.

I no of one self employed engineer who lost work/business thanks to Repaircare poaching work.

The screwer just got screwed, in my opinion all WP’s screw over people, no matter what there position, to believe in business there should be loyalty is not in the Directors interest’s.

Sad for the Engineers, at least DSG competitors are growing and expanding.

This thread and others will become useful in the future, people can research this and look back at how history has repeated itself, this isn’t new, has happened before and will likely happen many times more.

Although I’m not entirely sure what is going on with all the rumours and distractions.

    😕

I fully support Ken and UKW, i’d love to see UKW become more powerful and be able to become the voice for us the peeps actually doin the work.

Ken’s in a unique position and I’m grateful to the information he provides, its very useful, now and more so in the future.

I guess this goes to show how high a {e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of profit there is in our industry and this is the result, makes one proud to be British.

Ken I’m surprised by your stance, although I guess taking on the big guns can have a negative impact on anyone who dares too challenge them, which is a pity as they will simply be reading these comments and others and laughing there little ***ks off.

Re: NESN Gets Bosch Work… But Still Rumours…

Its sad fact that in the UK people seem to believe the rest of the world operates the same and that each individual does not have a voice or influence.

Other countries have learn’t to spread the word and support around, big problem with the UK population is that we have a selfish attitude and don’t feel the need to support others, this has been exploited by business for many yrs.

In the EU farmers have been known to pour milk away rather than be dictated to by suppliers, i’ve witnessed farmers turn up outside supermarkets and given fruit away for free to customers in a hope they would not buy in the shop.

All helps to get your voice out and push for change.

So this should be made aware in the public, clients need to be aware that JTM, RC charge too much to people, the ones who do the work get very little, the general public are unaware of the fact they can get that repair done cheaper by the same proffesional, as repairers we seem to have allowed the big boys to bend us over, not only that we allow ourselves to be used we also picked the location and supplied the lubricant, at that is wrong on so many levels.

Its time for change, I feel our MP’s should be made aware of the situation.

Re: NESN Gets Bosch Work… But Still Rumours…

There are 2 factors in our industry, the clients and the repairer.

The clients will always need us, they don’t need any other middleman.

Which is why i have an issue with RC etc, they take the highest percentage for the minimum risk. Why should we support a company charging clients over a £100 for a repair that would normally be £30-40 less, its made worse by the fact the repairer being local would have done that call if you took away RC and there likely to be struggling on the amount their paid as Ken points out with his accounting advice, so don’t support it, it foulish, bad for your business and bad for our industry.

The trouble with middlemen and business is there greedy, will always want it done cheap and will screw each other over, problem is as we see today the loosers tend to be the small businesses who stupidly supported it and failed to realise that business moves constantly and what may be a great contract with regular pay will soon change.

Any repairer in our industry who relies or supports that concept in our industry is not high in my estimation and frankly deserves all they get.

I’m sure there are many reasons why someone works for JTM etc, but if we all took the same stance our industry would be controlled by us the people doin the work rather than the ones not doin the work, after all RC JTM etc wouldn’t have a repair network without us.

It’s not impossible, other countries do it, much better than the UK, there are not many if any JTM etc style businesses in other countries and there managing just fine.
