Re: Hotpoint BL11/BZ21 + Powercut & Earth Leakage

    Hi Splatt
You got me a bit worried here 😯

Is your friend of yours an electrician? if he is he will be able to check your freezer from it’s 13amp plug with his relevent test equiptment.
If he isn’t then then you only have the option to call an electrician/engineer in ASAP 😯

It is not a very safe practice to bypass an earth leakage trip, there is obviously a fault on something that is connected to your ring main which may well be your freezer, by bypassing the earth leakage system then you have no safety, and you may be putting yourself/family at risk.

So they are onto a good little earner from us boys, as usual 😥

How many of the smart cards will we have to carry? probably have to double up on each one to cover if the first one don’t work and gets wiped. 😥 and do we charge the customer for each failed attempt to program?

    Thanks Guys
This is water running down the wiring loom right to the base of the module, I can’t see a cover stopping it 😥
What I need to know is why there is a hole in the dryer box that allows steam to escape in the first place 😕 . what you don’t need in a appliance with electronics is steam condensating everywhere 😕

    Hi Pete

I am a bit surprised as you were, that it need re-gassing. Generally they only need a re-gas if it has leaked and they only leak from a hole in the system pipe work. Did your guy say that he had found the leak? cos if he re-gassed and the hole is still there then the problem will still be there 😥 .
The other reason that compressors runs continuously is that the compressor may be faulty internally which may render the unit not economical to repair. Might be an idea to have a word with your repair guy as he should have guarenteed the repair. :rolls:
Quite a lot of fridge freezers have a anti- condensation heater in the area that you mention is warm, probably ok

Do I understand this right, Hotpoint boys can program the new boards straight fromt he laptop as they did eeproms?

You mentioned Indesit and therefore you must realise that they only sell cheap junk anyway. And by their very nature as a product are likely contenders for the ‘BER syndrome’ across their entire range soon as look at them. So taking on such a brand is asking for a load of hastle anyway I reckon.

Raise the bar mate and reap the reward, leave the Indesit to the ‘No Call Out ‘ bods……………….:rolls:

    Hi Martin
I agree entirely with your coments, sadly l and most others have got to go down the crap Hotpoint/Indesit road. In a way I blame myself for this as I am ex-Hotpoint and have had the tendency to promote such products for the last 20 years so the majority of appliances in this area are of this nature.( I should have had the full frontal lab. )
😆 As to leaving these brands to the “no call out brigade” is not an option, one, cos we don’t have any in this area the ones that we have had have gone by the wayside, secondly customers prefering to come to me for some unknown reason 😉 They probably have bought decent Bosch built ins but also have the crap Hot/Inds washers 😥 I am realy looking forward to the new “swipe card” machines 🙁
