Wonder is anyone want’s to buy my business for £200,000? I will even chuck in the van full of stock and tools, may consider the wife as well 😆 though I may not end up with any of the £200,000 if she decided to divorce 😥

Mains neon is accros the on/off switch, so sounds as if PCB could be duff, take it out and physically check it, has the machine had a power cut or surge? PM me if you want a wiring diag 😉

Hi Phil
Had look at the wiring diag. for you and there is a” transom heater” which is probably an anti condensation heater moulded into the cabinet 😥 . You can check it through from the main connection box, two yellow wires on the L/N terminals should give a fairly high resistance.

Splice a new piece of cable into the loom with butt connectors and make the joints six inches either side of where it was broken. 😉 Soldering is OK, again away from where it broke but remember you cannot use insulation tape alone to insulate, (electrical regs) 🙂

Hi Phase
IIRR it all unscrews, sometimes they can be as tight as a Scotsman 😆 The nut is as diagram pt.527
The parts diag. shows the nut under the venturi (127)but IIRR it is in the top of it, use long nose pliers in the castleations. Hope this is what you are after 😉 All parts are seperate, look on Connect’s under that model no.maltheviking
ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WD61 Melted Drum front plate
Checked all that Bob 😉 I am coming to the opinion that the injector nozzle had become deformed and that hot air was escaping past the seal 😕

Have tried to un block with a straw also put bendy wire down, it seems to be ok as far down as probably about 4inches from bottom, Also tried to ublock from rear of fridge but will not unblock…Any advice on this?..The water that gathers in bottom of fridge sometimes seems to freeze over but not all the time, do you think there is another underlying problem?
I presume that this has just started? in which case the gutter pipe has got a solid blockage. It could well be ice as the gutter pipe does pass the freezer section. Try pouring hot water (not boiling) down the drain hole at the same time try and and shift the blockage again with your flexible wire. Failing this you will have to find a home for the contents of the fr/fz. so as you can do a full 24 hour defrost by switching the power off.

Hotpoint top loader gearbox.
Why so,I assume you mean a power unit as opposed to the gearbox itself. 45 minutes max, wrap round cab off, lift console and top surround off and rest it back on suitable chair or stool. Outer drum off, take motor & balance weight off chassis then lift out the power unit. Wedge four of the rectangular nuts from the motor or weight bolts into the suspension dampers to keep them open and refit new assembly. Easy peasy.
Jim.

Hi Richard
Have a good look with a magnifying glass at the circuit board, particularly the tactile switches, they have a habit of breaking the soldered joints when the diffuser breaks. 😉
