The plot deepens as they say π if you would take my advice then you should really get a competent engineer out to save the day for you, he will also do all the required safety tests, and give you a guarentee π
Just click below and you should be able to find a engineer.

The original stat if I remember right has only two connections numbered 6 and 3, if your friend fitted a standard stat, it will have connections 3,4 and 6. If he has swopped the new stat “wire for wire ” using conections 3 and 6 you could get problems, get him to re-check WITH THE ELECTRIC UNPLUGED He should wire it Brown to 6 Black to 4 although it is not critical which way round they are.
These are basic fridges, you should not be getting these problems if the stat is the correct one and has been fitted correctly. Can you ask your friend which stat he fitted (part number) and how he fitted it please.

Hi Looby
A few questions, is the fridge running continuously? Is the βfrosting upβ all over the back panel? What temperature are you reading on your thermometer? And have you checked the door seal? It should be an airtight fit all around the door.
The thermostat is a standard type (should have K59 stamped on it), so a long as your friend fitted and wired it correctly it should be OK
If not, the correct one is available a shop@(on the the menu bar above) part no 261055maltheviking

Hi Paul
When you moved the appliance was there any water about? from de-frosting, and did it spill onto any electrics?
Try running the appliance from another socket and see if the fault re-occurs, if you use an extension cable then make sure it has an earth wire (3 core)
Remember “plug out” if you poke about πmaltheviking

Thanks Guys.
I havn’t had a look at this appliance yet, I needed to get a bit of background before I look at it as the customer has been doing a “bit of research” on the internet and informed me that it needed a sensor :rolls: what next?

It should revert to a timed defrost (not fuzzy logic) and still work! Thanks Bsh-Man
Is the thermistor replacable? or will it require a new module?

I have been down this road with Connect and others, I also believe that the part may not be obsolite as the oven isn’t to old
Roly I will try and get the code no.

ParticipantRe: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?
Interesting little job the other day, built in freezer faulty. When trying to remove it from the units I found it jammed solid, further inpection found that some pillock had screwed the freezer to the side by side fridge, so I had to drag both appliance out together. Moved them 6 inches and they both dropped to the floor π Finaly got them out and found that they had been propped up on various thicknesses of scrap wood.
I repaired the frezeer and advised the customer to get a carpenter in to make a proper base, there was no way that I could get the blocks of wood back under, it was obvious that they had been installed before the worktop was fitted. Worst part of this story was that the customer was “most disapointed” that I could not get the freezer back in πΏ I pointed out that I had hurt my back pulling the freezer out and in reality I should not have attempted it, π

The Italian Lover, a virile, middle aged Italian gentlemen named Guido was relaxing at his favourite bar in Rome, when he managed to attract a spectacular young blonde woman. Things progressed to the point where he led her back to his apartment and, after some small talk, they retired to his bedroom where he rattled her senseless.. After a pleasant interlude, he asked with a smile, “So, you finish?”
She paused for a second, frowned, and replied, “No.”
Surprised, Guido reached for her and the rattling resumed. This time she thrashed about wildly and there were screams of passion. The sex finally ended and, again, Guido smiled and asked, “You finish?”
Again, after a short pause, she returned his smile, cuddled closer to him and softly said, “No.”
Stunned, but damned if he was going to leave this woman unsatisfied, Guido reached for the woman yet again. Using the last of his strength, he barely managed it, but they ended together screaming, bucking, clawing and ripping the bed sheets.
Exhausted, Guido fell onto his back, gasping. Barely able to turn his head, he looked into her eyes, smiled proudly and asked again, “You finish?”
Barely able to speak, the beautiful blond whispered in his ear, “No, I Norwegian.”
