Yeah, right :rolls: You’ll have to explain one day how that could ever be possible?

It won’t in this case Jim. It has the old mechanical ‘bomb proof’ timer.

Looks like you didn’t read the samsung thread that ran for years with exactly this result. Or it could be your age and memory playing up again.
A combination of all three I would think Bryan. But it is so very kind of you to go to the trouble of explaining why this happens even to the old and demented even though, in truth, I don’t give a monkeys anyway.
You be sure and have a nice weekend. Matron tells me my family are coming to visit sometime today.

ParticipantRe: New washing machine recommendations please
John Lewis, Zanussi, AEG and Electrolux are all the same machine.
Electrolux is the parent company, John Lewis washing machines are simply rebadged.Martin

That story was featured on Meridian TV tonight. Interestingly the owners appear to have allowed Whirlpool to take the tumble dryer away “for further investigation.”
Also the TV reporter mentioned the £99 replacement dryer option.

I didn’t realise R600a could be literally explosive. Perhaps another major recall potential if more Samsungs start blowing up?
Is it dangerous storing the stuff?

Good lord! And that stuff is offered as a special at the UKW meeting coming up!

In which case something to pass on to your nearest and dearest should the worst happen. OR prove to others you have not only bought the best washing machine money can buy AND have sought the resolve to outlast it!

Nah! Dig deep and stump up for a Miele W1 series. 10 year warranty, never breaks down, a treat your missus could only dream of, until NOW!

What? Do you live out in the desert or summat?
Qualtex, Masterpart, Europart even UKW pass on spares to the trade.

John Lewis appliances are Zanussi = Bad choice
Bosch WAQ series machines have sealed drums = Bad choice tooMartin
ParticipantRe: Looking for a part
I was referring to a Siemens branded motor Evren. What make of motor have you got there, FHP maybe?

ParticipantRe: AEG Condenser Dryer EH0
E40 is a door switch error code.

Fascinating read this thread Evran 😕
What you all may have overlooked is that those old style motor end frame/carbon brush ring units (which are obsolete) have been replaced by the new style units using the later coil spring type carbons. Now, on the old units that TOC you refer to was embedded on the brush ring however the new style does not have a TOC fitted. 😉

stratfordgirl wrote:Do you know any dryers with ball race race bearings, Martin?
Sadly these days they are a rare beast. In fact only dryers with metal drums have ball race bearings. The modern plastic drums are more likely to opt for phosphor/bronze bearings and the reason for that relates to the need to eliminate static electricity. (Phosphor/bronze far better at that than ball race units)
But I really don’t need to tell you this as you already know the answer I suspect. 😉
