Public awareness toward issues of safety of domestic appliances around the home has to be a paramount concern. The tragedy of Grenfell a platform for all those that can remedy a solution toward avoiding a reoccurrence through public awareness. Whirlpool’s response to this specific event to my mind is acceptable to a point but far from convincing based on their current tumble dryer safety issues. Though I was delighted to learn that their range of fridges are all fitted with flame retardant metal backs, a proven safety feature.

Whilst the enquiry seems to suggest the fridge was the source of the fire outbreak, and the LFB responded to the original 999 call and extinguished the fridge fire, how the fire developed from there is so far not concluded. Meanwhile we in the trade should be ever mindful to check and double check our crimped connections

I would add that according to Siemens the original hinges are no longer available and these are supplied as a suitable substitute. However, they suggest that if you have difficulty fitting the hinges or the door doesn’t close correctly you may need to replace the front door glass also. Why? I’ve no idea, I’m just reading the technical footnote from their website.

I speak as I find Don and I have not had a problem with either my freezer or fridge-freezer, and for that matter my wine cooler during the cold winter nights. Tony’s need for a fridge located in near 0C ambient will not have a broblem by buying a Beko.

Beko fridge/freezers work successfully in temperatures as low as -15C. They refer to it as ‘Freezerguard Technology’. Both my Beko fridge and fridge freezer operate fine in my integral garage where temps get down on average to -5C mid winter.

The ‘Variant Code’ is also shown on the same rating plate as the ENr number. Though from what you say it appears the software needs reconfiguring and for that to be performed you will need to get BSH out to do that for you. 🙁

I have a Dyson V6 which we use around the house, specifically for vacuuming the solid floors using the motorised head. The crevice tool for the nooks & cannies. For car vacuuming it is a bit of a mare to be honest, not enough suction power, can’t clean the mats properly. But THE most frustrating thing about the V6 is the ruddy battery, it suddenly dies half way doing the task. No slip off slide in new battery, has to sit on the charger for eternity….rubbish design (are you listening James?).

So, for my car it’s the Kárcher wet and dry cyclinder vac, sucks the muck as easy as f*** (great one line advertising slogan eh?)

    Good luck deciding

Remove and clean the air chamber and where it connects to the tub. The air chamber is the part with a thin rubber hose connected to it that attaches to the water level (pressure) switch. 😉

The Bosch website https://www.bosch-home.co.uk/store/00145093 Shows that that pump does indeed come with the 4 grommets and fixing screws. Did you buy it from Bosch?

I bet a quick ‘ Martindale socket checker’ will show the house wiring is at fault. Live/neutral reversed or worst still earth return not connected maybe?

I’m gonna have to buy an iPhone with a bigger screen as I can’t read the new upgraded format without a magnifying glass 🙁

‘Grade B, sold January 2015’ hmm? 3 yrs 8 months ago hmm?
I’ve got to ask, what is wrong with it?
    Is it BER?
The owner/customer has of course to categorically prove it “not fit for purpose” based on what potentially is nearly 4 years of intense usage.
