When you fix the hinge on the barn door you can’t guarantee the whole dam barn aint gonna fall down by mornin’….?
Stand your ground on the subject like they do in the motor trade. If they change your front disc pads they won’t guarantee the bl**dy gearbox will they?
Why should you think white goods has problem by using that philosophy?

I bought one of the Imperialito Washboards this Christmas for ‘er indoors and the feet fell off as she dipped it in the froth!!!
Who are the Service agents and how’s she going to wash my overalls in the meantime?

ParticipantRe: A Scary Thought For The New Year
Once upon a time long long ago……………….we took on agency work and accepted their paltry guarantee rates because of lots of chargeable repeat business out of warranty.
No such thing these days, when the guarantee expires they buy a new machine !!

Tis true Vicar James,
Whilst I am close, not close enough to help out with your Washing Machine problem. However in spirit perhaps, a worthy Christian virtue allows me to suggest you pay closer attention to the PUMP of your machine.
For it is written in the ‘Washing Machine Bible of Quick Fixes’, that ” lots of odd errors and unexplained faults” may well simply be a coin of the realm stuck in the pump.
May your god go with you my son!

Thanks again
James
Good news Vicar !
You are being paid MORE than a service engineer per hour. Trust me, I am one of your poor and needy flock, masquerading as a service engineer for over 30 years. I work all hours God gives 7 days a week and have to provide shelter (in a stable) and food for my family to boot.
I think I will “take to oath” and do likewise. £30 per day every day, free lodging, loaves, fishes, free wine AND only work Sundays?….where do I sign?

P.S. Hope you have a sense of humour like me?

ParticipantRe: air locks in hot water system to washing machine
Christina,
Very little if anything can be done to overcome low water pressure/air locks in a hot water system in their association with automatic washing machine inlet valves. The primary reason is that the “Water Head Level” is far too low (The height your cold water tank is above the machine- it should be at least 7 feet) If you live in a bungalow then it should be OK, if you live in a Mobile Home there is very little chance it will work.
The only answer is to install a Pump. (Like they fit if you have a power shower!) Most plumbers can install these very easily and quite cheaply, that should solve your problem?

ParticipantRe: this is one for all service managers and dasa
There are cowboys in every trade Derek and having a Registration Card is no guarantee against them. In point of fact the ‘Cowboy’ is the first one who would try to obtain one if such a scheme were available.
It’s now 2004 and I am confident enough to assure you that in general those companies and individuals that still remain in the ‘White Goods Business’ are NOT cowboys. It’s a tough business and those still trading today can be relied upon and do not need a badge to prove it.

ParticipantRe: Indesit integrated dishwasher DI62 – door catch
You have got a tricky one there but to replace the Door Catch Assy (Pt No 018165) First isolate the supply, Remove Decor Panel and Lower Door Panel, then remove the Control Panel Fascia. The catch is clipped into position with lugs.
Lots of electrics and connectors stand in your way and unless you are a competent engineer I would not advice attempting such a job.
Leave it to us experts and call your local repair man!
