Have done 3 or 4 aw23 bearing jobs with no comebacks but did have a 5v2 where the bearings only lasted a week due to the supplied bearing kit seal having too larger ID and letting water straight into the bearings.

The inverter board can cause symptoms that you would instinctively associate with the control board.
That would be my guess if the lock is ok.

could be a motor tacho fault – either broken magnet or open circuit coil

Had one today which I managed to repair by replacing RL4 (heater relay) on the pcb.
