    Re: Workloads

    I think us Fridge engineers have noticed a big increase in work over the last couple of days 😀 Long may it last as things have been a bit grim for several months now.

    Re: Too warm

    I would just check the condenser fan motor is working… I’ve changed three of the plaset types this week (so far 😀 ,) they don’t like it when it gets this hot.

    all now makes sense. the thing that was getting me was the fact that there was no continuity between 6 and 4 at room temperature. therefore if it was wired same as a vt9 then surely these would have been closed.

    6 is the feed to the “all’s well light” on these older models (not a high temp warning light.) When the stat cools to a safe temp, the circuit will be made between 3 and 6 (and 4 until the compressor switches off.)

    We are talking stats that are over 25 years old… probably before he was born 😆

    😀

    Dave.
    On the K54’s I think you will find it’s;
    6 = All’s well light (3 on old stat)
    4 = compressor (2 on old stat)
    3 = Live (1 on old stat)

    On K59’s Dave’s got it right.

    Heating up or just defrosting?

    Re: Bosch KGN33V00GB cool air distribution question

    I have seen several of these new Boschs, which have frozen the food in the fridge, because fridge fan motor had moved inside its housing, jamming its blade. The fan should keep an even temp throughout the fridge cabinet

    If stuff is freezing inside the fridge, get Bosch out under the guarantee, it shouldn’t be happening.

    After changing the yellow thermistor (evap sensor) did you fully defrost the evaporator and check the ducts were clear?

    If the temperature were -22 freezer and +24 fridge, and the door switch was being switched off fully, I would’ve suspected the yellow thermistor myself.
    Faulty PCB’s and motorized flaps are quite rare and normally result in an error code.

    It sounds like your drain hole is blocked and the ice is restricting the air flow… Defrost for 24-48hrs (pull the plug) and afterwards it should work. Call an engineer if it keeps blocking in the future.

    Re: Quick one about a Mistral

    If the freezer isn’t getting down to temp, it will normally be due to the condenser fan motor not working or the condenser blocked with dust.
    Do you regularly remove the grill below the freezer door, and vacuum it out?

    Re: Leaking Whirlpool American Fridge Freezer

    Sorry I might of misunderstood what you were saying… if the defrost tray under the appliance is full of water, it won’t be a blocked drain hole… If the drain hole in the tray under the freezer Evaporator is blocked (inside the freezer,) water will seep out of the door seal (on defrosts) and puddle the floor.

    Re: Leaking Whirlpool American Fridge Freezer

    Sounds like a blocked drain hole.
