    Re: Hotpoint WT746 – H20 fault code?

Just been out to this and when I switched the machine on it made a lovely crack and tripped the electric.
On inspecting the module all the tracks around my original repair are burned and looks as if there may have been water/damp present.

I have a couple of spare boards, but from different models, is it possible to change the eprom from one board to an other?

I did in the first place, offer to replace the board with an EMW one but the customer can’t afford it.

Bernie, you could try stripping the motor WD40 it give it a good clean and rebuild.

I had this a while back and it worked a treat.

This fault keeps cropping up on here and it always seems to work. 😉

😀 I have done quite a few of these now, the capacitor on the board solves it every time. That is a great tip on Jim’s link 😀

    Cheers Loopey,

Turned out to be the top fascia board, on/off and start buttons were stuck because the return spring plastic thingy had broken. Can’t think how that happened 😳 but a cheap fix anyway.

    Thanks again everyone 😀

😳 not yet, customer has family in USA and was going to try and get some sent over, but I haven’t heard from her to say that she got it sorted.

How much do you want for yours? I’ll check it out with her. 🙂

    Cheers

😥 You’re right Martin, it’s not like I’m going to be able to take the rest of the week off with the money from this job, and I certainly don’t need any sh*t to deal with.
So it looks like they are going to have to cough up for the money for the proper hoses. Can’t help thinking that there has to be a conversion kit available somewhere. 🙁
