I have found that every Bosch Exxcel I have had to change brushes on has needed the excess carbon cleaning away, or it has caused the spin to skip to end.

I don’t know why but I never have to do this on Bosch Classixx or the old Maxx machines 😕

I don”t normally have a problem with this job but I think today I was under pressure to be somewhere else at a given time and may have caused a lapse in concentration.

    😳

As it has one of those horrible base plates, I had to take the front panel off. Also I tapped the brushes before selecting a spin. I am pretty sure that it was running ok before I removed the motor, the only thing I am not sure about is whether I put the field coil back on 180 degrees the wrong way.
I will return to the customer tomorrow and we shall see if I have to make good on my offer of virtual beer. 😉

🙂 Thanks chaps, I know the brushes are the right way around, but the field coil maybe the wrong way around.

    Thankyou.

Thanks for the advice chaps, it’s food for thought, I will bear that in mind when I speak to my customer before I offer any prices etc.

    Cheers

Cheers Martin, like I say an annual service does seem to be a thing of the past. I have had customers say that their old repairman would service their machines every year, and I have wondered what exactly they have done. Have they changed perfectly good parts? Generally if I am doing a repair I will give the machine a once over and if anything looks suspect, I’ll let the customer know and advise remedial action.

    Thanks again.

My partner (not that kind 😆 ) has been out to it and couldn’t find anything obvious, ie draining problems, carbons etc.

    I’m thinking possibly timer fault.

Thanks for the replies though 😉

Cheers Jim I think it’s the first one, out of stock at Connect 🙁

I’ll try my local supplier with that part number though.

    Re: Servis M6713W washer

sometimes if your customer is a bit heavy handed, the outer door trim can slip over the inner trim causing the pecker to not quite reach the door lock usually a little pull on the outer trim will make it click back into position.

You will be able to see at a glance if this is the case as the door handle will not be sitting flush to the trim.

I would check the Heater, I had the same fault a couple of weeks ago on a Zanussi, machine filled and started but then drained out and went to end cycle.

Checked carbons on mine and they were barely worn, so I don’t think carbon dust would be an issue with mine, but maybe on MadMacs’. :hmm:

Re: Hoover AL130-01 Door seal melting

I would think it is most likely a fractured spider, I have had this myself a few times with the Hoover six range, where I haven’t been able to feel any give on the spider but when on a high spin with a load in, it will show its self up.

Re: Bosch Maxx WFL2260 – Poor quality wash

I have advised the customer that there is nothing wrong with their machine and to try different detergents ie tablets with a fixed dosage. I also warned that overloading the washer will cause it to not wash properly.

Thanks for your input everyone. 😀

Sorry I’m talking about Hotpoint/Indesit type specifically on a WF machine.
