    Re: heater element removal

As you were Martin, I always debor them back in and in truth when I visit machines that have already had it done, they don’t cause me any heart ache, it generally peels away easily enough. In fact I find it quite relaxing, a bit like popping bubble wrap 😀

Re: Hotpoint WD440 no heat on wash

Johnny J, you the man 😀 It had obviously been fiddled with before I got to it as the Dryer heater and wash heater supplies were the wrong way around.

The only thing I have to do now is replace the stat on the dryer unit as it has gone o/c.

    Thanks again.

    Oh and thanks Banksie 😉

Re: Hotpoint CTD85 – Wont start program

The door activation pin is ok, I should have mentoined that when the start button is pressed it beeps three times, also pressing and holding the start button (to cancel a program) also causes the machine to beep three times. 😕

😳 errm I think I may have been checking the wrong bit, I removed the plastic cylinder that connects to the sump hose.

If the pressure chamber can only be accessed by removing the front balance weight and tub front, I haven’t checked it. 😳

I can’t remember if the front panel comes off the machine, I presume it does to enable access to the front weight etc.
