Re: Smeg DWI 710 E1 part exploded?!

Sorry, this was the capacitor that I given the details for.

Unfortunately we are not permitted to give you detailed instruction on how to conduct these sort of repairs yourself. You, or anyone else reading this post after you, may not be considered competent enough to safely work on this appliance and due to the risk of personal injury we cannot describe the prodedure for replacing the capacitor.

All I would say is that if you are at all in doubt about carrying out this repair I would strongly advise calling in a professional.

If you do decide to fit the part yourself please work safely and disconnect the power supply before discharging the capacitor prior to removal.

I really don’t fancy your chances of getting the part FOC with a 3 year old machine, regardless of actual use, to be honest.

If you wish we can order the part for you; genuine Smeg part 811770337 £9.73 excluding VAT & P+P

    email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk if required.

If you require to have someone fit this for you try Repairs@ for a local engineer.

Sounds like you’ve got a leak which may be caused by a blockage.

Try feeling around in the sump (where the filter slots in) being careful for any broken glass. Other than that it will probably be a strip-down job to examine the internal hoses and the pump; not a DIY job to be honest 😕

Re: ADP 8252 not filling with water??

If the control board (part number 816290672) is genuinely faulty you’re looking at £105.06 excluding VAT & P+P for a replacement.

It could, however, be something else that’s interfering with the board so it might still be worth having it checked first.

Re: ADP 8252 not filling with water??

Doesn’t sound like it needs reset to be honest if there’s no water coming in at all.
Take the kickboard off and try to reach underneath to the drain hose (the grey corrugated one) and carefully feel to see if it’s wedged in. Also check that the water supply hasn’t accidently been switched off at the shut-off valve (usually a little blue plastic tap under the sink).
Failing this it may be time to get an engineer back in to examine it.

If you wish to try a different engineer put your details into Repairs@ to get a UKWhitegoods approved engineer for your area.

    Hi don

Do you want to check that model number again as there’s a DE4844 and a DE4944 etc but no DE4244.
