I should point out that this fixing kit relates to the fascia that has slots at either end. You attach door catches to the inside of the decor door which fit into these slots and the height is fixed by a couple of screws in the bottom.
You’ll have to supply your own screws; 8 self tappers & 2 longer ones – measure the length of these against the dishwasher before you put them in.
You shouldn’t need a drill, an electric screwdiver will do.Craig

Confused
The fixing kit (two brackets & a key) is available from MFI on 0845 7959722 and is part number 697450274. retails at just under £10 excluding VAT and P&P.
You might also need two rubber spacers for the bottom of the door, part number 754010066, about £1 each (exc VAT, P&P).
I don’t see any listing for the template. If you need one ask MFI if they would be able to send one out, otherwise it’s a case for some crafty work with a tape measure and a pencil.

I’ve also had a few calls recently from AIS with Domestic & General policy numbers (& job numbers) on them.
That’s us taking another £5 hit per call by doing D&G work through Anglo rather than being passed the work direct.Anyone else?

It’s not that I’m particularly fond of MDs, it’s just that I’m lazy & they’re convenient. I’ve been known to venture into KFC from time to time as well.
What I would say about MDs is that, contrary to popular misconception, they are very hygienic. I’ve examined their cleaning schedule and they would put most other companies to shame with the importance (at management levels, anyway) which they attach to cleanliness.
It’s just the spotty-faced teenagers serving you that project a different image.Anyway, if you’re working hard enough out on the road then you shouldn’t have time to get hungy :stir:

It certainly sounds like the element has blown. They’re not too bad, usually around £20 + VAT for a new one.
If you want an engineer to come out & do this for you try Repairs@ for someone local

You could try MFI on 08457959722 since the machine was built for them.
You could also try Smeg since they built it. I don’t have a number handy for them but you could try emailing their spares centre at spares@smeg-service.co.uk

There’s a little plastic ‘T’ shaped thingy that’s used for this, but you can make do with a small flat headed screwdriver if you’re careful. Loosen, but don’t fully remove, the screws at the bottom of the door to get it off.

ModeratorRe: SMEG slimline DWI45.1 unlisted error code
The two end lights flashing happens quite a bit and is annoying since, as Dave points out, this is not a recognised error code.
t seems to occur when the machine has been sitting on another error code for a while, such as overnight, before switching over onto this display. If you find this display you’re probably best just to cancel it and run the last used programme again and take note of the error code displayed at the end of the cycle (or where it fails). This is obviously very heavy on the waiting time and a call to the customer before attending may be advisable to get things moving.
Almost all the machines we’ve attended that have reverted to this end-two-lights-flashing error have been caused by the dreaded E2, which often disguises itself as another error to catch the unwary.

ModeratorRe: Smeg DWI45 slim line dishwasher
There is a reset thermostat which may have tripped. This should be checked first before replacing any parts.
It’s underneath the dishwasher tank in amongst all the electrics and so forth so if you don’t feel comfortable trying to reset this yourself try Repairs@ for a local engineer.Power off if you’re going in yourself :zap:

ModeratorRe: white k knight dryer model no cl 767
There’s a kit which contains the element, inlet stat & reset stat available; part number 421309238041 which retails at £46.80 exc VAT & P&P from MFI. Doesn’t contain the vent stat, though.
Never seen one of the reset stats go open circuit before.
If you find that your vent stat has blown check that the vent hose is extracting properly and has no dips along it’s length, such as from leading it under the floor boards. If there is water collecting in your vent hose you have a problem with extraction.Craig

If it’s nor tripped the reset then it’s likely to have blown either the safety stat or the element. Dave Conway should be able to advise you on part numbers and prices.
As BobHope says check the filter. A blockage can cause the appliance to overheat and blow the thermostat. There’s no point in replacing a part only to have the new one blow due to the original fault remaining.
