RobThis is the recirc pump for a Zanussi w/m, the standard Ascoll pumps will not fit there as the impellors are too big.

They have all UK geographic codes.

We use Sipgate.co.uk, they provide a local number for free, and they are pretty good ones too – we have 01865 989765.
Everything can be managed online, e.g. when someone is in the office we pick up calls from PC with microphone, when out it forwards to mobiles, you can login using your mobile and change the divert if you need to.

Given up on Connect, the delivery company they use are absolutely useless. “Next day” delivery always takes two days.

ParticipantRe: Warning, Qualtex BKT88 failure
Have found with these bearing kits the screws Qualtex provide are very poor, had a couple of shaft problems which I think were caused because with Qualtex screws it’s very difficult to refit shaft securely. Now fit but reusing Hotpoint screws, prevents shaft from moving around and touch wood no recalls.

I was asked to submit a “risk assessment” to unblock a tumble dryer fan in a council care home. Manager there got very stroppy when I told her in that case I wouldn’t do the job as it was ridiculous for a professional engineer to have to fill out paperwork to use a screwdriver, claiming the council had a “duty of care to contractors etc. etc.
In the end they gave up and let me continue with my non-politically correct, unethnically diverse repair 😉

(Thats for the 1200 spin model.)Yes but with Amica you get a two year guarantee so can command a higher RRP. We make less margin on Amica than Bosch but we also get the guarantee work for Amica so swings and roundabouts.
Beko were good machines for the money but the new ones are predominantly sealed tubs and, although better than Indesit, bearings aren’t the best.

ParticipantRe: AWCT12L Stock
The only people I could find still selling them are the Co-op, trade price as I recall is £145+VAT.
I think they’re being replaced by the Amica AWM612D, though they look Chinese rather than Polish?

Is there water actually flowing in through the soap drawer? If so it’s probably siphoning out, check the drain pipe and reposition. If there’s no water going in, and the water supply is definitely on & hoses aren’t kinked (test by undoing inlet hose), then it’s likely a faulty inlet valve or wiring to the inlet valve. Test them with a multimeter, one will be open circuit and will need the solenoid, or complete valve, replaced.

ParticipantRe: BEKO Tacho Magnet Needed!!!!
Easiest and cheapest way is to go down to your local dump, bound to be a couple of Beko machines there. Pay one of the blokes £10, take the machine, get the magnet off then get your £10 back by taking the machine (with the motor separated) to a scrap metal merchant.

Madmac wrote:What’s the point of them pretending the job is a piece of p*ss ❓ Well, the desire to make money of course, but disgruntled punters can quite simply ask for a refund under the distance selling regs 😕
Yes but in reality if they can’t fit it then they’re not going to send it back, they’re going to call one of us out to do the job. eSpares know this so can put up videos saying this is so easy without really caring – whether they can fit it or not, people still NEED their washing machine fixed.
To be honest it doesn’t bother me, I get paid to fit the part, don’t have the go to the bother of ordering in spares plus best of all if the part goes wrong it’s not my problem. In reality though when I explain to people how little a repair costs when you’re paying trade+25{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} for parts instead of retail, they never go back to spares sites – especially after wasting a couple of hours skinning their knuckles trying to get an “impossible” retaining band on 😉

Also does the machine drain quickly? If it takes more than 30 seconds to drain make sure you have cleared out the filter and (with the machine unplugged) feel the sump hose and make sure it’s not full of debris. If the filter or sump hose is full of sludge no amount of hot washes will get rid of it, the only way is to strip it down and clean it out.
