ParticipantRe: Washing machine in line water inlet filter
Holes are very small – 0.3mm – finer than a tea strainer or sieve. They’re much more effective than the standard ones at the end of inlet hoses but not too small that they block up all the time. They’re designed to protect pumps so I assume are a little overspecced for solenoid valves, but you could always use a coarser filter if needed.
Hope it works well for you.

ParticipantRe: Washing machine in line water inlet filter
If they don’t want the cost of a tank I’ve got a few rural customers where I’ve fitted caravan water filters to, which does the same job. Something like this: –

All connections are 1/2″ rather than 3/4″ but easy job to step down and filters are stainless steel so can be taken out and cleaned from time to time.

Most likely to be dryer NTC as were poorly designed and later modified by Candy.
Email spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk for a new NTC p/n 41032956 and a new wiring loom to the coreboard p/n 41032989. In the meantime giving the wires to the dryer NTC a good poke may buy you a bit of time.

ParticipantRe: indesit widl126 washer dryer .
First things first, throw away the eco ball, waste of time & elimates one potential problem.
Then tip the machine back at an angle and remove the filter. Set it to drain and check if the pump implellor turns. If it does, the pump is fine. If not, first check you haven’t knocked the wires loose when accessing the sump (there isn’t always much slack on these machines), then remove pump and check it turns freely. If not, replace the pump.

The bolts are available as well. I think they’re waiting on stock from Poland (that’s a week late I gather) but they are most certainly available.

Last set of bolts I fitted (about three weeks ago) seemed identical to the originals – still very thin compared to most counterweight bolts. Concrete block did seem a little different though. Apparently GDHA used to uplift these as they couldn’t be bothered with the hassle.odom
ParticipantRe: Bosch do FREE callouts!
To be fair they’re shooting themselves in the foot too. After all, who’s going to buy insurance at POS or afterwards, if they can just call up when their machines breaks and sort out insurance there and then – cancelled FOC is their machine is BER.
Really the only winners out of this are BSH, who I assume get a large commission on sales plus get paid to do the call plus get to charge D&G for “genuine” Bosch parts. Can’t see it being good for them long term though – pissing off the indies who recommend them plus selling rubbish Belay tacticals as a premium product can’t be good for their brand.

ParticipantRe: Miele W3830 not spinning
Hi sorry should have said checked pressure chamber, all clear through pipe. Drum seems to spin fine by hand. Machine fills to correct level and empties fine, just won’t spin up.
Thanks anyway for the idea.

ParticipantRe: Bosch Enr- WAS28466GB08 W/m stuck on 1 min left
Have you checked heater element for insulation? Normally this causes it to stick on 1min.

ParticipantRe: Where’s everybody gone?
Agreed that the forum is a lot less easy to use (and busy) than before. I know it’s being worked on but the biggest problem is not being able to search for basic things like “Bosch” as it omits them.
The forum was a really useful tool to have as an archive of those difficult problems we all get occasionally. Now all those thousands of pages of knowledge is effectively inaccessible.

ParticipantRe: AWCT12L..Worrying
What do you use to use to prevent water leaking, rubber washers inside the drum? Would like a more permanent fix to these but I’m never sure what goes first, concrete or bolt? Both seem under-engineered on an otherwise reasonably well thought out machine.

ParticipantRe: hotpoint washing wrecks kitchen
Yep, but realistically for Hotpoint to do that repair the parts cost would, I imagine, be less than £30 – hence why they can push their “parts guarantee” rubbish so much.
It certainly will be interesting if anything ever comes of the OFT investigation into spares pricing – if we could buy tub assys for £30 then even sealed tub bearing failures would be viable repairs.

ParticipantRe: hotpoint washing wrecks kitchen
I suppose with the lovely sealed tubs and stupid valve assys that’s only three parts they need to replace, one tub, one valve assy and one suspension spring. Piece of cake, less than an hour and it would be as good as new.
It’s just that “new”, “good” and “Hotpoint” aren’t always the best combination :).

ParticipantRe: Ariston Margterita A2090WUK
As you’re in the trade use the megger I’m sure you have to find which component is down to earth. There’s no need to be testing a live suppressor for voltage, that’s what test meters are for.

ParticipantRe: Can anyone make me a website?
kwatt wrote:With the links in it of course.
If I don’t get the work it may as well be someone else on here that gets it IMO. I’d much, MUCH rather see that than see the customer disappear to a national repair service. 😉
K.
We do the same as wellhttp://www.oxforddomestic.com/coverage.php
For those of you new to websites, linking to another website is like “voting” that site as a good website on Google and other search engines. Hence if we all link to the WTA on our sites then the WTA member search will be pushed up Google search results for “washing machine repairs”, or whatever terms, so we all benefit as more customers are drawn away from the nationals for no cost.
