    Re: SMEG SLIMLINE DISHWASHER –

Please find the model number – label around edge of door. Also, normal wash doesn’t help – the indicator lights are 4 or 5 in a row, please state which is flashing (and any that are steady) on a left to right basis.

AND DON’T SHOUT AT US – we are listening.

    Fantastic, Ace.

Todays little tale is true, and happened – today. I have had to send Solanki Properties a bill as follows.

    Complaint: Hpt 9524 – door won’t open.
Diagnosis: Machine full of water, door locked.
    Parts used: £1 coin
    Parts Cost: £1.00
Work: Insert coin into coin meter and check machine function.
    Labour: £40
Comment: Tennant refused to produce coin, as he was unaware that the machines in the laundry room ran on meters.
    Total: £41.

I await the howls of anguish with something approaching glee.

    Regards,
    Chris.

Ah, the left hand thread – truly a sin before God. Do not apply any form of sealant to the running surfaces, indeed ensure that they are spotlessly clean before assembly. The flange where the seal seats into the chamber cover can use the very lightest smear of silicone or similar just to double seal the joint.

For resistance, the pump should not actually be stiff to turn; just a light drag as you turn it.

Re: Bosch SKT5002GB/02 Compact: Recurrent pump problems

I would suggest that you buy 065548, the springloaded carbon face seal and 065550, the impellor with the ceramic counterface on it. When fitting the springloaded seal, a wipe of sealant where it pushes into the backplate will prevent minor dribbles. The impellor should be screwed fully home, when spun over by hand you should feel resistance – this is caused by the seal faces being pushed firmly together, thus (theotetically) making the watertight seal.

It would reach temperature faster and the stat cycling pattern would alter, but I can’t see it exploding the glass………

    Re: faulty bosch fridge freezer

Demolition Daves repair did cause some puzzlement, as it is certainly not an approved repair. We can only assume that he improvised something with “proprietary” thermistors – they are definitely not available from Bosch. However, he didn’t choose to enlighten us on that score.

    Glad yours is working,

Re: Hoover TV 630 Tumble Dryer – off/on switch failure?

The on/off switch is not an on/off switch, it is a start button which activates a small electronic board in the console panel. This will be what has failed.
