ParticipantRe: Gorenje Freezer buttons
Suspect green will be power – if it doesn’t light up or flickers I wouldn’t worry to much as the neon is on continuously with the power, so is prone to failure. Orange will be a “superfreeze” optoin for the freezer – this willover-ride the thermostat and run the compressor continuously. Useful if filling an empty freezer with warm food.

Large dead rat across the mains terminals was my worst. Didn’t go there again.

ParticipantRe: APM 8702 Diplomat/Howdens Washer Dryer – Not drying
There are two points being discussed here. The pump may be found in the shop@ facility –
http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … cts_id=162
That should be the one.
This is quite separate from the fan motor on the top of the drum, which circulates the air when the dryer is selected. It is prone to filling up with fluff and reducing the circulation of air.
Personally, as this is an integrated unit I would check very carefully for a nipped or crushed drain hose and the sink spigot being choked. A lot of them have a little cross piece within which is excellent at catching the little buts of fluff which get pumped out of the machine.
We are not allowed to give you specific information about how to do the repairs, only some general guidance. Pull the plug if doing any more than observing. :plug:

ParticipantRe: spares from UKW
Ok Bazza,
That is a very fair and reasonable point, which has come up once or twice before. There are three types of posters in the Public Forums with regard to machine repairs. The first type want to know what is likely to be wrong before sending for us. The second type tend to be a bit more “have a go first”, and finally there are those who are going to fix it themselves. As such, they are already a dead loss to the repair trade and I see no reason why UKW should not profit from retail sales to this (relatively small) group.

Is what you require. The capacitor may be accessed through the lower rear panel of the dryer – with the power off of course :plug: .

True – surprisingly enough Austin only bought the automotive arm of Wolseley, the machinery side of things kept going and became the firm we know today.

ParticipantRe: Electra 1100b wont fill with hot or cold water
I think the very first thing to do is check the wiring of the pressure switch as I note that you have removed it for testing. If you are very lucky, the terminal positions are printed on the wire ends, and embossed on the level switch.

ParticipantRe: Fisher Paykel smartdrive motor controller
Exploratory science. Given our very limited experience of these appliances in the UK and Alexa’s comments (he is our only regular OZ Trade poster) you may have to solve this yourself. Wash action is initiated by the completion of the water level control circuit, spin sequences by breaking it; so you’re looking at figuring out the switching circuit on the board to allow direct motor control.
Beyond that, I suspect that we can’t really help you – although I would be fascinated to know how you get on.
Good luck,

ParticipantRe: Zanussi DW 70M spares
You may be out of luck here. The exploded diagram is still on the data disc, but there are no part numbers listed anymore. This generally means that they’ve called it all obsolete. Unless anybody else knows better?

ParticipantRe: Bosch WFF2001 struggles to turn
Can be motor, can be electronics. If the brushes are below 10mm, they’re finished and need replacing – the spring is extended and may not exert sufficient pressure to ensure a clean contact on the armature. If the motor struggles to wash but will spin (not at full speed), the motor will definitely be at fault. If there are any clicking noises as the motor turns, it’s blown, similarly if it goes “Ong” before turning.
Expert or not, power off before sticking fingers in.

Are you ready for this? Sit down with a stiff drink…………… £16.49 plus VAT.
I should just like to say that I am profoundly honoured to be able to donate my hard earned cash to the CDSL BMW fund, in the hope that it will reduce the stress levels they’ll endure when I finally collate this growing pile of rip-off prices and do the comparisons – not just the prices amongst ourselves, but from our other suppliers as well.
And publish it.
They do read in here don’t they? CDSL/Connect? As well as all the other wholesalers.
