ParticipantRe: Indesit WD12 15 flash error code
May well be a fault in the dryer part of the machine. I have had this several times as a thermistor failure on the heater box. It can also be a computer board failure realted to the heater circuits.

Keep getting boards blown by the last throw of the motor brushes.

We can perhaps test this. Next load you wish to dry, do not set to dry automatically. When the load has finished washing, run a cupful only of cold water into the drawer. This should refill the u-bend of the soap hose – then set the dryer off and see what happens.

Certainly does Arthur – breaks neutral circuit around machine, therefore no fill. Check connector block for wire breakage as well as o/c pump.
Power oiff please……..

The green side of the first board – will have lots of silver tracks running around on it.

I think the honest answer to this is that we just don’t know yet. F&P have a good reputation for a quality product, but are at the far end of a very long supply chain for product maintenance.
There are some piccies in the Photo Gallery section of the site, and http://www.fp.co.nz is an interesting read.
Sorry we can’t say more. If you buy them, do us a review and send it in site admin – then we’ll all learn something!

Sounds like a power supply problem – does the timer need resetting before function is restored?
spares@ukwhitegoods.co, can supply parts if required.

Cracking piccie. Unfortunately, the damage Dave is describing is likely to blown tracks – other side of the board………

Well, the lock is cheap enough –
http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … ucts_id=86
is what you want. Curious that the belt should have run off – was there good tension when you refitted it? They can stretch with age, or the tracks become worn.
If you are electrically and mechanically confident, I’d get the lock and see what happens next……..

Bit of a “How long is a piece of string” question, Alan.
Personally I do 10 – 12 calls per day, 6 days a week. Bear in mind that it taken 13 years to get to this stage.
If starting on your own, you need to find an “angle” – rental property work, pubs and the like. They want quick service, but may need monthly billing.
The early days are always difficult, until the “word of mouth” builds up.
Good luck,

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint Ultima WD71P – Ceased To Operate
Given that this machine is fitted with a “delay” type door lock, I would suspect that that is where the problem lies – they are known to go off with a bang.
If the water has gone, a sharp rap on the casing next to the door button may shock it free, if not engineer time.
Power off if you are going into the machine further.

Good one Martin – I bet the plug’s melted into the bitumen lagging on the back! Opening the door wiggles the machine and re-establishes contact.

Yup, there was a post about Mr Mackell in the Public forums before the great re-organisation.
