ParticipantRe: Fitting belt on Zanussi Dryer
Basically the back has to come off to allow the belt to be passed round the drum, then in through the cover at the bottom for the motor end of things.
Good luck, it’s a real s@d of a job.

This what you want Ben:
Wonderful stuff – cleanliness of bonding surfaces essential; tell the Mrs not to put the chicken on the door for basting. 😆

ParticipantRe: Safety Information
It would make more sense to link it off the Pro Advice header, as with anything else deemed appropriate.

ParticipantRe: Fisher Paykel Washer Mainboard Fault
Glad you got there Pwhit – did you actually get him to identify the specific fault? Or did he throw parts at it until it did? We have company engineers over here who do that, which doesn’t help the trade learn anything 🙄
You might like to post the source of the re-con boards up here for the benefit of your fellow countrymen – most of the discussions to date have led to board failures……….
We have specialist electronic repairers over here, but no much use half a world away!

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint DC26 Slimline D/W
Hi Clive,
Eastlmark is gonna have a fit :rotfl: ! Me? I say upside down – he say take the cavity off……..Went to a Nardi i/d/w yesterday, which is some sort of Merloni in disguise, no drain…… drain pump at 12 o’clock (ie, in the middle, at the back), big plastic undertray…… That’s an upside down one for sure – 4 screws and the tray comes off dead easy, if somewhat messy 😆 .
I am coming round more and more to the idea of an alternative Glorious Fifth – when UKW members go to Italy in August and shoot diswasher designers
Cheers,

ParticipantYou know, that’s incredibly reassuring Andy. What are you – 4-5 thousand miles away? It’s the same the whole world over!

ParticipantRe: Whirlpool awg129 not warming
AWZ129? Probably heater failure – p/no 4812 259 28675 – about £30 + VAT from memory – contact spares@ukwhitegoods.com with part number for price and availibity.
There is no re-set stat on this appliance – it is a single use one as part of the heater assembly.
If you are unable to test the component yourself, please get pro help – check repairs@ or Directories for a UKW engineer in your area.

ParticipantNobody stocks them because the motors are so cheap. Probably a better margin as well.

ParticipantRe: Indesit Washing Machines
Martin,
If you use the “search” facility up at the top of the forum page, you will find hoards of references to Indesit washer failures and relatively few relating to Samsung. Difficult to know how representative that would be, as Indesit/Ariston sales far outstrip those of Samsung. In my own experience as an engineer, Samsung is generally reliable, although some component prices can be rather expensive.
