ParticipantSteve,
They may well be on the inside of the door. They can be tested by gentle heat. Be very careful if you do strip the door, the stainless steel inner panel’s edges are honed to lethal sharpness!Regards,

ParticipantRe: Revenue Report
What a good discussion. Planning for the future in an organised manner is one of the things we should be working towards at all times.
May I point out that, as has been said once or twice before, this is still relatively early days for UKW. Whilst we have a healthy trade membership, it is still tiny in relation to the overall size of the service industry.
Therefore, I would like to see us round up the 20k+ bods we haven’t got yet. Some sort of promotion required, maybe not internet based.
Let’s face it, I’m reasonably bright, but it was still a complete fluke that I found UKW (Anybody muttering “Wish he hadn’t” is in trouble… 🙄 ). I had no idea that it was out there!
The current proposals are all excellent and should be followed up and hopefully activated. They will all add to the attractiveness of being a part of UKW.

ParticipantDave,
Isn’t there some sort of door seal issue with Brandt dishwashers? Conversion kit or something?Steve, the dishwasher uses static heat (ie the timer is stoppped) to temperature. The timer should restart when the thermostat reaches 65c, so may not be receiving the signal. This suggests a faulty stat, broken wiring or possibly faulty timer. Starting to get a bit complex – may well be engineer time.

ParticipantBy extrapolation, the machine is actually helping us by telling you that there is a fault prior to filling etc. Makes a bit of sense to me….. Much more sensible than trying to drag out a machine full of water and soggy washing!

ParticipantCharlie,
We will be unable to give specific advice for you problem without the model numer. Check the control panel and inside the door or around the door seal surround. Some Hoovers have a filter behind the front kick panel, which can be removed and cleaned. You say that you have checked the hoses; have you actually stripped the cover off the pump to see if there is a blockage?
Can’t tell you much more, if you’re not sure of your own abilities get some help. You can check the Directories section for a local UKW engineer or pop your postcode up and someone will pick up on it.
Whatever you do, Pull the plug first.

ParticipantLiz,
We won’t be able to offer any specific advice without the model number.Basic principles would suggest:
1) Ensure cooker timer set to manual
2) Selector switch may be faulty.
3) Safety thermostat may have been tripped. The last two options require test equipment, if you can’t do this safely, send for an engineer. You can check in the Directories section for a UKW engineer in your area, or pop up your postcode in here and someone will pick up on it.
Don’t wait too long, it’s starting to get tight to order parts in time for Christmas.

ParticipantSteve,
First thing to do is to get the bottom door seal area cleaned out – scouring pad along the bottom of the door is the main place to start – you will be astonished how much crud comes out.Next (you can cross refer to the infamous “E2” fault), is to clear out the bottom transfer pipe – lift out all the filters and effectively rod out the drains! You will find several openings off the sump moulding. Some people poke them through with something like a tie rap or a fine bottle brush. Again, you’ll be astonished at the crud that comes out.
Do nothing without pulling the plug first, if you’re not confident in your abilities check the Directories section for a UKW engineer in your area.

ParticipantI fell for this one Roly – you have to go into Profile and set the time and date manually for UKW.

ParticipantIf it’s a Zem Sole motor it should be strippable for replacement of bearings and seals. We repair a few like this every year.

ParticipantHi OP,
Several known problems with these machines.1) Long hose from fill valve to condenser housing cracks, splits and chaffs with age.
2) Where the condenser housing joins the back of the tank is a so and so for weeping water.Best bet is to get the covers off, set the machine off and watch.
Turn the power off before you stick your fingers in………

ParticipantGlad to help 😀
If it makes a noise the belt has gone, if it doesn’t the motor needs help.
If you can post make and model we can give a more exact diagnosis.
Do nothing without pulling the plug first.

ParticipantRochelle,
The filter is located in the bottom right hand corner of the casing – being an integrated appliance, it may well be hidden by the kick board on the cupboard front. A few turns anticlockwise will free the filter.Regards,
