ParticipantDid someone say FISH?!

ParticipantScandinova was always a Comet brand. The appliances are usually made by Vestfrost in Denmark.
Good luck……..

ParticipantHi HTDD,
Your machine is an SGS6612GB/07? The most likely cause of your problem is a blockage from the fill matrix on the left side down the hose to the machine’s sump. It’s not a difficult fix, but rather awkward!See who responds from Norwich post codes is the easiest solution, or check the “Directories” section on the left.

ParticipantYou’re GMK aren’t you? Check the other post you put up!

ParticipantHi GMK,
We’ll need a bit more to go on – SM65 is not the model number. Have a close look at the top off the inner door; you should find the model no. etched into the top surface. Some of these machines have a separate switch which is not too expensive, some are a combined “keyboard” which may be rather dear.
Bosch is a quality brand, for a failure as simple as this one it may well be worth having it repaired.
Bear in mind also that an independant repairer may well have a lower labour charge than sending for Bosch!
If you check in “Directories”, you might find a local UKW repairer, or put your post code up in here and somebody may well respond.

ParticipantProbably programmer and door lock required. Mr Conway will scare you to death with the prices in the morning…….
“Small PCB” will almost certainly have survived.
You need to confirm the diagnosis first to be sure.
Shame, ‘cos they’re quite a decent machine really.Regards,

ParticipantHi Demon,
Mains electricity enters the machine through a mains suppressor, then round to switches and programme controller. It’s all at 240v, so do not work on the machine live.Check the tracks on the PCB on the controller for blowing, this is a sure fire sign of doorlock failure, and will give you the symptons you have described.
UNPLUG it first!

ParticipantYou beeky chugger Martin…. I’ve just finished an 11 hour day. What have you been doing to get on UKW by 5.37pm?
Anyway to offer Ralph what little help I can, the main raw stockist up here is Battle’s, Parry Lane, Bradford. Tel 01274 309904. Pot luck what they’ve got obviously. There is also Remploy at Sheepscar in Leeds, but I can’t find a number for them and they are a right funny lot anyway.

ParticipantI hate to say this – that dryer looks like a White Knight in a posh frock and certainly won’t last 20 years. The Crosslee factory “brands” dryers for all sorts of manufacturers, this is one of them!
The ones to consider are :-
WTL6508 Logixx
WTL6307 Exxcel
WTL6106 ClassixxThese are proper German built machines and I would be disappointed if you didn’t get a good 10 years out of one of them. It’s pushing it to get 20 years out of any appliance these days!
Bear in mind what I said, you gets what you pays for!

ParticipantHi Fluffy,
IME all condenser driers seem to be slightly problematical. The Candy/Hoover driers were cursed by a collapsing rear drum bearing which basically wrote the machines off after about 18 months due to the cost of repairs. This has apparently now been redesigned. Hotpoint/Creda and its other associated brands eat thermostats at an alarming rate, which while cheap enough, is a damned nuisance.
Simple rule of life is you get what you pay for. Moving up market to the likes of Bosch will buy you a better product with a good chance of a long service life, without spending ALL that much more.
This a personal opinion, others will no doubt think differently!
Regards,
Penguin45PS, if you do have 3 heads as per the other Fluffy getting quick service shouldn’t be a problem!
