    Steve,
This is the usual grey muck I take it? This is normally caused by several years of doing 30/40c washes, combined with failure to clear the filter. The problem is exacerbated in hard water areas. I live in a soft water area, and a cheap fix is to clear the filter (under the kick panel) and boil out with a cupfull of bleach. Hard water people seem to prefer soda crystals, but the basic principle is the same in either case – make sure the filter is clear, and boil out.

In some cases, an engineer can pull the machine to pieces, high pressure water and a scrubbing brush will scour the clag off, but allow for AT LEAST 2 hours work.

The Ariston A1234 has a sealed tank assembly (great), so bleach/soda is the only option. If it kills the odour a little, do it again!

Regular hot washes from this point on will help.

    Phoebe,
A05 is related to water level control. It can be a number of things, they are all buried under the machine. In all honesty, sending for an engineer is the best option.

Either put up your post-code or have a look in the Directories section for someone in your post code area.

That’s the second self tapper post today Martin! Are you obsessed with the little blighters?!?

He’s right mind you – tell most customers its a £70 panel or a screw up the jacksi and they’ll take the latter every time.

I think I could have phrased that better……..

Collect all the family trainers once a month and stick them in’t “Bendix”at the launderette – thes machines will take it.

People don’t realise that through water absorbtion the weight of any given item increases by a factor of 6 (approx) in a wash. So, a 500g trainer now weighs 3kg and it gets dropped on a plastic paddle from a height of 2 feet – obvious what’s going to happen really. AND people save up ALL the trainers to “make up a load”…….

If you’ve got to do them in the washer, 1 pair of trainers, and a bunch of towels. These will act as shock absorbers, and will also give a better chance of the load evening out properly when the spin sequence is arrived at.

    Best regards,
    Penguin45.

Bosch is generally pretty good. Simple and most parts are affordable if things do go wrong.

Remember though, you gets what you pay for; which is why nobody should ever buy a £200 washer!

    Caz,
There are early and late versions of the drum paddles, which do not fully interchange. If you have had a tank change, you will almost certainly now be on the LATE type paddles. If these are being replaced against the machine’s date code/serial numbers, you may well be getting the wrong ones!

Even if you get the right ones, don’t wash your trainers in the machine!

Maddocks have most of the bearing kits available if you have the E no. Still a fraction of the price of a crosspiece.

It will still certainly take a universal fan motor, which WILL be cheaper than buying a motor from Whirlpool!

    Sacha -put the piccie up!

    Rob,
Most of these modern Whirlpool ovens have the glass bonded to the inner door panel, so that is only available as an assembly. The outer glass is usually available separately, although you will have to recover all fixtures and fittings to put the new assembly together.

Mr Conway will be able to offer up some prices in the morning; the product no. would probably help things along. Starts 85 or 89……..

Weird how these things work out – went to an integrated, old, Bosch yesterday – flooded undertray and set off flood protection. It was of course, as Sparkey says, the baffle to sump hose choked. That’s the one coming off the fill chamber (or baffle) at the 6 o’clock position in the picture. Remove from both ends, flush out, clear both spouts, and it will work!

    Pull the plug first………….

Hi oofus (I thought it was bad being Penguin – what are you?),

Cloudiness issues are usually related to salt and rinse aid levels and dispensation rates. Refering to your manual will offer some basic guidance, failing that post back here with model/e.nr no (around the door/on the door apeture) and further gems of knowledge will magically appear!

Clive may be trying to explain a reflective sheet – some sort of base material cover with ali foil. Usually self-adhesive around the edges, stick on the work surface UNDER the hob. Supposed to reduce rate of heat transfer.

Well, an hour ago you were an old Indesit dishwasher (Controls in the top, not the door you see….).
