God, it’s a foreign language. Anyway, haggis are nasty little beasts – the lowland ones run anticlockwise round the hill, and the highland ones go clockwise. The inside legs are shorter. If you cross breed the lowland and highland varieties you get Sheep….

We are reverting to the “bad old days” of the seventies, except now it’s not the unions (legislated into virtual helplessness), it’s now we, the people who want to be heard. Unless the current administration want to legislate us (the people) into the same state.

The government is supposed to serve the peope, not vice versa; I think we’re all intellegent enough to realise where we are with the current lot.

Are we all ready for the next 2p from the government in September? It’s coming.

So, do we sit here and moan about it? Do we moan about the people who are sufficiently motivated to do something and lose?

This is an inconvenience to us and is eroding our margins, but it could be so much worse – you could be a self employed truck driver doing 12mpg in a 40′ rig – you’re getting absolutely screwed!

If this really is important, get out there and do something about it. We’ll lose but at least you have the satisfaction of trying.

I had thought I was through my “Power to the people” phase, but currently I get so annoyed with the current administrations “So what” attitude that I might even get the guitar back out again and get back on the protest circuit.

Protest or die, vote or shut up, do nothing and drown. It’s up to you, but have some little respect for those who are prepared to try.

If you release the locking strip along the edge connector, you can release the individual connector and turn it over. Nae bother, pal.

Very like Bosch/Hotpoint top wheels – try under 7800 or SPS2432GB/01.

    Gotta be close……..

When you switch off and back on with one of these, the computer resets to the START of whichever step it is on. The spin sequence starts with a tumble and distribute whilst pumping, so it will revert to that initial step if interupted. Soon as it wants reverse tumble – BANG!

    Don’t do it!

Right, so that really factually cocks up the “Free Advice” post I put up earlier – which I did sit and consider for a fair time before putting it up.

Members and Associates and Guests? Might give us a fairer impression of where we really are. 700 engineers is pretty impressive. 300 is not! 700? Might be a Dyson engineer out there somewhere – 300 – less likely.

I had thought that out of 700, I’m a bit noisy, along with about 15 other regulars, with plenty to say. With only 300 it puts a slightly different complexion on the whole way the site is working. We have less strength in depth than I had thought, although I wouldn’t dream of faulting any individual for their imput.

Obviously, we must recruit – vigorously!

    Been an interesting evening,

I think Kwatt said these were obsolete last week (before The Great Crash), but how about posting up a piccie – they may be similar to another brand and there are some great lateral thinkers on this site!

Given the relatively small number of public enquiries per day compared with the number of members all out repairing (700 members x 10 calls a day= 7000 jobs that we know about per day) AND we haven’t recruited everyone yet, the scale of the professional marketplace becomes rather clearer.

On that basis I have no objection in principle to giving out reasoned advice based on what we’re told, with the proviso that
    1) Pull the plug first.
    2) It’s your own fault if you DON’T pull the plug first.
    3) If you’re not sure what you’re doing or can’t be sure of a diagnosis – look in the database for a UKW engineer in your area.

Publically trashing stuff doesn’t help anyone, it may be seen to be an act of spite at not getting a job.

Also, just because we detest a particular make or model doesn’t mean that a punter does. After all, they paid for it and howling too loudly at their folly would imply that they are fools for having purchased the machine in the first place.

    Not good for image!

If we are going to keep the public advice forums open we need to maintain a reasoned and cool, professional front, and keep what we really think in here.

    Regards,

Mine used to make clicky clicky noises in my student days. We thought it was sucking away merrily. Then the belt broke, when we turned it over there was a hair grip wrapped up in all the hair round the beater bar.

Personally, I don’t think it ever picked up a thing, but, Hey, I was a student!

Look, basically it needs a bigger bucket to put all the bumf in, and the bucket needs emptying and filtering more often. Amazon is the missing baby sock/5p piece that stops the whole thing.

Can I get back to the washers now?

It can’t be all that bad – they’ve been out – what – 4 years now? And I haven’t managed to get my sticky flippers on one yet. So either they’re reliable or service is being offered at a sensible price.

Got to be an engineer with the info out there somewhere though! I await with bated breath.
