Re: Zanussi DE6744 continually washes never stops

    Um, close, not quite………

A typical programme comprises cold pre-wash, hot wash, cold rinse, hot rinse leading to drying by residual heat. If there is no heat at those specific steps, the programme will hang, waiting……. So, it should complete the pre-wash at least and advance to the heat sequence. If it does, check for continuity through the heater, burnt out wiring at the heater and burnt out contacts on the pcb itself (The heater is switched by a relay).

    However……..

If the programme is hanging in the prewash stage, the problem lies with the IWMS system. This is the water matrix under the l/h side panel. It will slowly choke and ultimately become blocked with congealed food deposits which will prevent the water level switch from operating. The fill will cut out on the pneumatic shut-off to the fill valve, whilst remaining electrically active. In theory, the machine will wash, but the programme will not advance, as it thinks it isn’t full. Bit of bumf HERE may help.

I also removed the thermistor but it appears it is open circuit, I’ve placed it in hot water and the resistence has not changed. Although it looks like this may be faulty, I’m not sure how this could be the cause of the water not pumping out during cycle?.

Above messages received from Coys, I have removed any personal details. Can I please state for the record that this is a forum site; use the forums for questions and answers. I (and other UKW Trade members) do not have the time or the inclination to deal with every problem privately – it is unfair on us and to future users of the forums who may be able to find their answers using the Search facility on the site.

Based on what Coys has said, I suspect that we are looking at a fairly classic computer board problem. Select a programme, press start and runaway fill. If the computer were working properly, it would detect the water level through the flow meter count and the level switch. Failure with either of these will abort the programme (and the fill process). Failure of the temperature sensor will also generate an error code – machine beeps, drains and flashes its start light in an identifiable pattern. As this appliance does none of these things, it’s not a “logical” fault, thus implicating the computer board.

36981800 is the drawer front. Switches are listed individually on Masterpart without identyfing which is which and there’s no diagram.

    Welcome to the asylum, Kev.

Earth fault on heater, ntc out of circuit, stuck heater relay all possible. As it won’t do anything else though it’s got to be the pcb. As usual 😀 .

Does it heat? Programme stops to heat – if it never gets to temperature, the programme won’t complete.

Re: Bosch HBN7050GB Fan Oven Element Replacement

Half moon element. Turn off power and remove door. Remove cover panel in the back of the oven cavity. Remove oven fan (Note: Nut is left hand thread). Undo the five screws to release the element, swap the wires and off you go.

    Nice easy one.

Stay safe, ensure that the power supply is off.
