I shouldn’t fret yourself too much Turbo, they voted in Iran recently but that didn’t work either! 😉

I would have voted BNP (Ban Nothing Please) by the way. 😈

Re: Siemens SIWAMAT 5030 no turning

It isn’t a spare part in it’s own right. Boschs’ parts listing shows a motor with the carbon brushes in separate plastic holders, suggesting that it is an FHP motor, rather than a Bosch one. Only the brushes are shown as a spare. The usual solution is THIS LITTLE CHAP. You need a pair of snippers, a tyrap, a soldering iron and some patience. I can’t honestly tell you whether or not it will fit your motor.

I got sufficiently tee’d off with them that I changed my signature a while back. Seems to work.

    Sent you a file.

As far as I can see from the diagrams, the timer motor has one side switched on the timer side, the other is a direct feed from the pcb.

I’m afraid your deduction is incorrect. An error code would be displayed by LED 5 showing steady and a combination of LEDs 1, 2 + 3 flashing.

The start/stop/start/stop you are describing sounds like a classic corruption issue which can be caused by the release solenoid on the dispenser or the pcb itself. I’m afraid it’s impossible to be more exact than that.

There is an article worth reading HERE.

Re: F&P GW709AU – lift lid while spinning blows fuse!

    Moved to the Oz forum.

If the lid is opened during the spin sequence, there is a dynamic brake applied through the electronics to stop the drum within 10 seconds, the energy being dumped through the drain pump.

Start with the usual suspect – dodgy wiring in motor/pump circuits, especially where it turns under the drum.

Washman has a point though, why should you want to open the lid?

Position the drum so that a paddle is at the 6 o’clock position. Using a stout rod of a suitable diameter, locate the middle hole in the top of the paddle, insert rod, opush down firmly and to the left. Pull the paddle forwards to release, then you can go fishing.

If you are not sure, contact your service agent. You might get a bit of a reprimand, but the problem will get resolved. 😆

You’re describing a classic pump failure. Replacement is $40 odd Oz, so got to be worth a punt. It’ll take you at least two minutes to fix.

Five screws and slip the door seal – the front should come off. I am regularly getting burnt out connectors on recent Bosch washers.

A basic test meter offering testing in ohms can be bought easily for under £10. Even you local DIY shed has them.

No chance of a part number and price without the model number……

    Hi Mike.

I replied to this last night, hit post and the site went off-line…… again. It’s the “M” word, I tell you.

Yes, basic inolreM/sivreS timer/module set up. Bear in mind that the only direct timer function is to lock and unlock the door – otherwise, the PCB is analysing the switch combinations to get its programming. Set it to “Spin” and the computer selects its spin sequence, so after start, it’s running software, not switches. It’s doing my head in…….
