The machine looks very similar to the Merloni-built ones. I have emailed you a manual which may be suitable.

There is no rear bearing – there is a one piece double “sleeve” bearing fitted on these. Fitting involves removing the pulley and the cast iron crosspiece for access.

Bearing kit is ZN0501 – spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will be able to supply one for you promptly.

    Re: F&P smartdrive 703 problems

Cold water valve is a 12v proportional fill device and is subject to problems. Good practice is also to check wiring and function of lid switch and out of balance switch – both are subject to corrosion and damp problems.

Re: looking for an F&P smartdrive

F+P toploaders have neve been sold in the European market – the few that I have worked on have all been brought over by their owners.

It might be simpler for you to track down a scrap LG DirectDrive machine – the motor is essentially very similar.

Continuity test back to timer unit is your next step. Possible that the loom has broken at the door pivot point. If you do have continuity, switching problem in the timer is the culprit.

Hot water valve is turned on by a cam operated switch on the front of the vari-stat.

    TTT,
I do apologise – I have disabled your account in error (suspicious looking gmail address). Please contact admin@ukwhitegoods.co.uk for re-activation.

I also haven’t got a specific answer to your query, although it does sound as if the computer is faulty.

Do not be tempted to touch the salt/regeneration tank – it is not relevant to this problem.

F13 – Rear temperature sensor (NTC) is not working.

The NTC is supplied as part of the thermostat kit to be found in the shop@ facility on the site. Note that there is choice of two kits, dependent of the serial number of your dryer.

Power off if you intend to tackle this yourself.
