To access the drain pump, remove plug, door outer, kick board and lower cover panel and it’s straight in front of you. There is a tab to be released and and two hoses, then the pump can be pulled clear for inspection.

    Re: national service

I note from posts in another thread that you wish to establish a “low volume” national network based upon the Necht brand. I had been pondering whether or not to contact you with regard to work to cover occasional shortfalls in my own business.

However, I have to consider a number of things before making any sort of commitment.

1/ The Necht brand is owned by a Mr Miller in Lancashire, who has not found favour in these forums. A brief search on the site for “Necht” reveals some interesting results.

2/ Are repairs carried out on behalf of HAS(N) paid by you, or do we have to rely on Mr Miller meeting your invoices?

3/ Necht dishwashers are Chinese in origin. Parts supply for general components can most kindly be described as erratic. What do we do if we require a Necht specific component? Will you be holding spares? Furthermore, will you be able to offer any specific technical support to the models involved?

4/ Ovens and hoods seem to originate from minor Italian manufacturers. The above comments apply.

If you could offer some clarification on these concerns, I would be interested in work in LS postcodes.

    Re: Membership.

I’m kind of tempted to refer everybody back to the first post in the thread.

If we’re brutally honest, we’re all in this for what we can get by way of a profit. It’s a foodchain, and we’re quite a long way down it. Which is why we keep on getting screwed by manufacturers, shafted by work providers and ripped off by spares suppliers. And yet, after all these years, we keep on taking it and coming back for more.

    Just how dumb are we?

We owe none of them anything. Combined with our own previous stupidity for the last 20 years, these “Associates-to-be” have devalued the entire business to a degree where many of us (Independents) are failing, getting out or going bust.

If it were my call alone, I’d shut them all out, make this an Association for the Independent Repairers and then let them sweat as we gather in as many as we can. Then use a bit of clout…….

I suppose I can dream. We’re a democratic body; these are just my personal thoughts.

Test meter – typical coil reading should be around 3.5kOhms when spilt from the circuit.

Please consider what I said in the initial reply. If the water has gone and the machine thinks that it’s still full of water, it will fault. This would suggest a problem with teh water level control system. The pressure switch in these budget Indesits is rather prone to failure.

Power off if you intend to investigate this further.

Indesit 056948 – 1221H7 should be close enough.

If it’s just runaway fill and cycles on the flood protection, it’s the pcb. There is a mod – which I can’t find……….

No drain detected in the time allowed. Is there water still in the machine?
