This is probably a red herring but the customer thinks she used to get a long spin on synthetics but now if you skip to the spin it is only the short spin. We looked in the moaners annual and it described the synthetics as having a short spin. It looks like I will have to go back and stand watching the machine until it starts to misbehave. 🙁

ParticipantRe: jobsworths ??
I arrived home from a job the other day to find my regular Pegasus lorry outside but not with the regular driver, who takes the parcels to the hotel next door if I’m out. This time it was a woman driver, who told me she had left the parcel at my back door 😯 but could I still sign for it. My cottage does not have a back door but the parcel was on the gravel path under the kitchen window.
When I order from Screwfix the stuff is usually just left on the front door step. At one time the driver must have had a key that fitted my workshop as he used to unlock the door, put my parcel inside and leave the door unlocked 👿 . The first couple of times this happened I thought I must have left the place unlocked but the third time I changed the lock.Phidom

Motor 1242123048 is £86.79 from Connect or £103.99 from Masterpart 😯 .I don’t know if it applies to the newer machines but I seem to recall the 1200 spin machines had a centre tapping of the field coil so there was an extra wire.

I did wonder about trying a different motor. I’ve heaps of the 1000 spin ones but I don’t think I’ve got a 1200 one and it’s an expensive item to buy just to try. Thanks for the replies anyway.

ParticipantRe: Zannusi FJS1225 Burning smell
😳 Sorry, yes I just went to the same model machine this morning and it is indeed a double valve. I found some bits of loose insulation plastic from the motor windings, some inside the motor and some elsewhere. Customer says the machine gets so far into a programme then resets itself to the beginning. She has not had any errors displayed. 😕

I don’t think Zanussi use double solenoid valves, they direct the water mechanically.

Does this mean Hotpoint have still not solved the premature bearing failure problem? 😯
