Re: hotpoint 30mm inner bearing outer case stuck in tub
I use the split collet from the hotpoint bearing change kit; put the bolt through it from the side I’m going to be hammering, wedge it open into the bearing shell with a couple of tapered pin punches to stop it collapsing inwards as I’m hammering, do the nut up to keep it all nice and tight, then give it a good bladdering on the bolt head with a hammer and steel drift.
They normally move after a few cussings!

They’re not using the delay at the moment, but they like to set it to go on during the wee small hours, so they can use their economy 7 and get it done cheaper.

I had this with a Neff or Bosch T/D the other month – it turned out that the condensor cartridge had never been out for cleaning in the whole 8 years she had been in the house.
Not surprisingly, the cartridge needed cleaning, which fixed the problem.
You’ve probably checked that, anyway, but just in case.

I’ve been away for the weekend, hence the dalayed response.The insualtion resistance figures were all >9999 MOhms, both before and after it tripped the rcd.
I also checked the socket it’s plugged into with my Martindale EZe check Xtra, which took a long time, repeating its self-test 5 or 6 times, before giving me 3 greens at the bottom and a green top left, indicating all is well with the socket. (I’ve never had it repeat the self-test like that before, though, so that was a bit strange)!
The motor didn’t feel excessively hot, as far as I remember, but I’ll be looking at it in more detail, with this in mind, when I go back.

Have you physically checked that the tumble dryer and dishwasher manuals are downloadable, Martin?
Because when I tried, they weren’t. 😥
Am I doing something wrong?

Does anyone have manuals for the dishwasher and tumble dryer, please?
