Re: Hotpoint dishwasher BFI620 no wash action

    Thanks, HotDog.

I haven’t stripped the wiring out to check it, but I have checked the continuity of the wiring from the pcb to the wash motor.

But I suppose that it could still give me good continuity with only a few strands intact, so I’ll slave another cable in and see if that makes any difference.

    Cheers,
    Pigpen

    I found 423842 Sensor-PTC on Connect’s site.
I’m going to order one and try it.
Do you reckon that will sort it out?

Any Siemens experts out there willing to give me a clue, please?

    Cheers,
    Pigpen.

    Thanks, Don.
    That was quick!
How do you go about opening a direct account with them?
Do you have an email address for them I could write to, or something, please?

Perhaps somebody might at least have a wiring diagram or some other tech info they could let me have?
    Please?

    A-Ha!
    Cracked it!
If you type in hotpoin*, then it will complete the word and will list all entries with hotpoint in it.
    Success!! 😀
    Cheers,
    Pigpen.

But that only looks for words that are longer than hotpoint or interlock, eg hotpoints, hotpoint’s, hotpointwm, etc and won’t pick up hotpoint on its own!

I’m replying to my own post, because I don’t know how to edit it!

No longer required – she didn’t want to wait, so she’s getting a complete new tub.

    Thanks, Martin.
The air chamber was well and truly gunked up.
Gave it a good clean out and it’s all working nicely now.
    Cheers,

Certainly looks like the 910 farmhouse on Connect’s website, and the elements look right, too.
    Job’s a good’un!
    Thanks, Gandh1.

    Thanks, chaps,
It was the same with or without a load in.
    I’ve checked the tacho,
    I’ve checked the relay terminals,
    and I’ve checked the heater.
But I haven’t checked the air chamber, so my next step is to check that, then remove the module to check with my magnifying glass, then send it to The Barn, if it’s still a non-goer.

    Cheers,
    Pigpen.

It WILL all be worth it in the long run.

    Jim.

And there was me thinking it might be my computer that’s on a go-slow again – last time it was one of my daughters picked up a virus from youtube!

I’ve been using the advanced search tool, clicking search by topic, then right-clicking each message I want to view and selecting “open in new window”, then I can continue to peruse the search results, opening 5 or 6 new windows, for example.
Then as I’m viewing the first new window, which will hopefully have loaded by the time I’ve finished selecting from the search results, the next new window might have finished loading, etc

Just replied to a pm, though, and it’s taken ages to go to my outbox and now it’s just sitting in my outbox.
I’m hoping it will send and go to my sent folder before I shut this machine down for the night!

Perhaps it is the same one, Mal!
Anyway, this village got converted to underground electric supply in 2006, so would I be right in assuming her house would now be a TN (PME) system?
