The ptc usually work or do not. Rather unusual to be out of tolerance.
The horrible control board on the back of the switch how ever can give some very strange faults normally no heat.
Quote for both otherwise it will come back and bite you on the Ar*se

like you say Martin ‘each to there own’..
I regularly take the tank off for iwh but its abit of a ball ache just for a motor 😉 .
Probably only an extra 30min if its a basic appliance but the point being is theirs is no point!! 😆

Best to take tank off for iwh but it is really not necessary for the motor.
More tricky if its a model with a large heat exchanger on the side otherwise it really is a breeze 😆
Lid off, Sides off. Door skin off, Plinth off. Both screws that go into the front chassis. Right screw at the back.
Lift right side of chassis, pull out right door cord from chassis and put a screw driver or similar in the hole. Now the unit is supported and you should be able to twist and remove the motor in the normal way 😆
Go in with electric drills blazing and you can be do in 25mins otherwise 40 with a cup of tea and full test, Jobs a good goodie 😉

Check the ducting / hose / wall outlet. 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time its blocked on the outside of the wall vent!! :rolls:

I’d say you had to leaks in the first place Rob.
Motor seal [sealing kit] probably leaking for ages. Seal from motor casing into sump would be what your saw when you tested it.Can be changed without taking tank off, 10min job once you have done a few. they usually go rotten/ slimy . But there again i would not tank the tank off to change a motor. each to their own!

The motor that drives the timer used to fail. Or the gear on the motor use to move down the spline.
If the gear has moved you could move it back with the aid of some pipe grips or similar.
The wiring looms failed alot as-well.Either around the dispenser or at the bottom of the door

Its a piece of cake to do a heat pump.!!!!
right side panel off, Door skin off, Plinth off.
Cut factory cir clip off, Disconnect wires [obviously!!] pull motor out!!To halves come apart easily. You will need a thin cir clip to reassemble.
Once you have done a few 20min start to finish 😉

Its got a leak [probably] front left is a polystyrene float which engages the pump when the m/c leaks. Hence the pump running when the door is open.
If there’s no water in the base then its a PCB fault.. 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time it will be a leak.
Top off, sides off, door skin off, Plinth off, Dry out water. test= look for leak! 😉

ParticipantRe: BOSCH WVD24520 CHILDLOCK
On this model you clear it by holding the start button for 5secs but it must be on the program that it was set on. Process of elimination!!
