Re: Review by Office of Fair Trading

    hi oliver,

I may in line for a vented tumble dryer too but not sure as yet as to which one i will be purchasing, (i am a little worried about miele products due to a lot of service engineers not being able to fix them or if they can, they then cant get the fault codes off and this costs £130!) as it would get little use maybe a dozen times a year or less. I have to put mine in the outhouse so a vented is more suited to the varying temperatures. I like the ise dryer but they only do a condenser at this time. I read somewhere that zanussi make a reasonable vented dryer for my amount of useage, but i am really undecided 😕

    Hi oliver,

You got in there before me. Relieved that you didnt think that, but even i must admit the timing was a bit suspect.

Hope your mums machine gives her many years of ‘parts free service’ 🙂 Fair trading may well of ‘stepped’ in by then 😀

    kind regards

PS – I wasnt actually going to post that as most on here (trade anyhow) wouldve known what i meant :rolls:

Once out of guarantee parts are expensive, we all know that, it was just by how much (if this example is anything to go by) that is so 😯

Yes, but that honestly wasnt a dig at you Oliver, quite 😯 that you thought so

What this post was about is that i was recently informed by’ someone in the know’ that a miele part which can be bought for 28euros trade is sold for over £220 retail :shake:

No excuses for that, just totally wrong IMO

PS – I suspect a certain ‘high end’ manufacturer has been :protest: over this 😆

PS – this model does not have a timer but that is not a problem for me, just thought i would say that in case anyone was looking to buy and needed a timer.

    Hi david,

I think you meant to say for £900 she couldve had a white (silver door surround) ise10 😉

Basically i’m guessing its a case of ‘what the lady wants for her kitchen, the lady gets’ 😉

    best wishes to all

    Hiya don,

thanks for the reply and advice 😀

i like john lewis, their home delivery service is excellent, i bought a tv from them with a free 5 year guarantee included, in fact it was cheaper than the same tv in argos 😯

    ah ha found you!

    hiya don,

That was me being a bit lazy there, thanks for link 🙂

I looked at the belling FSE60DO in a big retailers and knobs seem solid, glass doors slide out so easy to clean etc. This is a big decision for me as i have always had mains or bottled gas cookers! I have a new world bottled gas fs cooker at the moment, it is 17 years old and going ok, however dad has offered to buy me an electric one as changing the bottle is a nuisance (always goes when doing a sunday roast or christmas din, and when dads here, hence the offer!) also the bottles have doubled, yes doubled, in price in the last month 🙁

    many thanks

PS – John Lewis are selling this cooker for £450 with a 2 year guarantee, you can upgrade to 5 years for £70 (and dads paying 😉 ) Do you think i am on to a winner, well a reasonable runner up for the price?

Re: ISE1607 Noise With Zanussi Dryer On Top

    hi oliver,

if you dont want to answer this then thats fine, but i am a nosey woman :rolls: and was just wondering if your mum’s use is actually commercial?

Before i purchsed my 1607 i had thought if i was to change to stainless on my other appliances would my washer look out of place, then decided it was too good a machine (plus the 10guarantee) to pass on, then noticed it had a silver door so decided it would look fine even i did end up changing the rest 😀

The ise10 is one ‘hell-of-a’ machine too  You can choose a higher-water-level (excuse the pun) and extra rinses if required, plus other ‘extras’ and you can open the door in the middle of the cycle to add any missed items 😀 And it cost only £900 to boot 😀

And you couldnt ask for more than that

Imagine any other company bothering to do that if they had already sent an engineer out :hmm:

yes, you could be right there, my old machine used to rock on the lower spin and then pan out better at the higher spin 😀

Re: ISE10 1607w in the house!

    hi dave,

I just wobbled mine about (drum in hasten to add!) and the drum does move around a fair bit but then that is what it should do being on those ‘huge’ shocks. I have done at least 25 washes of varying loads but i have not experienced the ‘banging on the chassis’ that you are talking about. I had a bit of a ‘rock and roll’ with some heavy jeans causing the drum to move a bit more than usual but all i heard was the ‘chissing’ (sorry only way i could describe noise!) of the shock absorbers, rather cool actually like when a car goes over one of those (damn) speed humps :rolls:
