Re: ISE1607 Noise With Zanussi Dryer On Top

    hi,

I remember a lady in my street years ago doing her cooking at night 😯

Like joints of meat, casseroles etc, i said to her ‘arent you worried about the cooker catching on fire’ she replied ‘oh well i will be dead then and wont know about it!’ All just to save a few pence on the electric! :rolls:

Anyhow dave, with the larger drum capacities of the newer machines you should be able to save on electricity by not doing a lot of small loads. the newer machines are susposed to use less anyhow.

I would definitely not let the lack of a delayed start sway me from a 10 year guarantee if you decide on a miele, thats for certain. There really arent any other quality machines available IMHO. I had 2 years to look into it and came up with miele (but didnt want them really!) and then i discovered ISE (thank heavens and washerhelp 😀 ) All through the 2 years of saving and trying to get the most out of my old machine, i checked out the ‘competition’ and came up with ‘zero’ The 2 year thing was to my advantage in the end as the timing panned out right when the new 1607 model was being introduced 😀

Ken, thanks for the link. Ever the fountain of knowledge 😉

Best wishes and merry christmas to all

Re: Vented Tumble Dryer for outhouse

    hi asjdoc,

Thanks so much for the reply 😀

I just want something that ‘does what it says on the tin’ with no bells and whistles, like some have.

I will do very little tumble drying TBH, just for ‘real’ emergencies or finishing off.

I would love an ISE dryer of course but dont know if i would be ‘doing it justice’ in the outhouse, (used more like a shed by my son really :rolls: ) I treat my washer like a new-born :baby: so could end up crying like one if it got marked or anything. But will wait a little longer to debate :rolls:

    best wishes and happy christmas

Re: ISE1607 Noise With Zanussi Dryer On Top

    Hi dave,

Hope you’re not ‘blessing’ me for asking now :rolls:

I know i am straying a bit again 😳 but what time does economy 7 ‘come in to play’ nowadays and is it still actually half price electricity?

Unfortunately i cant recommend a washer any better the the 1607, mine is not noisy and i and my son (who sleeps directly above it!) sleeps through any washes that i put in at bedtime (not for cheaper electricity, but often do it this time of year for drying purposes). Miele are a good quality but have you read my recent post on the general forum under heading ‘fair trading office’. I definitly would not get a miele unless it has the 10 year guarantee thats for certain (well i wouldnt get one at all as i will never to straying from the ise path for another washer and that wont be any time soon 😉 ) thats the only recommendation i can give you i’m afraid.

good luck, hope you find something suitable for your needs

    hi david,

Glad that ise have sorted for you now 😀 You have got to admit that there are not many companies that would after a reputable engineer said all was fine.

We often end up straying off topic :rolls:

Me often being the culprit 😳

What washer are you getting now, yes i know, always the nosey one :rolls:

Re: Vented Tumble Dryer for outhouse

    hi ken,

Did ise previously to do a vented dryer or am i up ‘off with the fairies’ again? :rolls:

I know those condenser models are a good idea for fitted kitchens etc but i am not all that taken with them TBH as it seems a lot of condensation has to ‘stay inside’ the machine so to speak. I think i would rather see the steam going outside. Probably just me being my usual strange self again :rolls:

Will see if i can wait a bit longer, trouble is my son has started at a new garage and i have to wash his clothes myself now, and believe me he only has to look at dirt :rolls:

    hi don,

My neighbour has a stainless steel belling, that gets a lot of abuse :rolls: Lots of mucky cooking and never gets cleaned but it is still going strong after 7 years 🙂

I have always tried to buy things that are made by companies that have been known for mainly that same product, like say, british gas for gas (used to anyhow, as no mains gas here :rolls: ) New world (for gas), cannon, rangemaster, belling (favourite for electric) etc for cookers and my bestest choice for washers, dryers, dish do-ers, ISE of course (i am No1 fan according to someone 😆 ) , you get the idea 😉 I think that if a company diversifies like many do nowadays, then surely they cant be giving the same sort of thought, money, quality, man power etc into each product? Maybe wrong but that IMO anyhow 😉

Re: Review by Office of Fair Trading

    hi,

Yes it is a shame in all honesty, but that is the way the world is going, everyone’s suing everyone, products are often not of a decent quality (that is generalized and not all products, just to make that clear!) mind you that is often the fault of the customers, etc, etc. So unfortunately we do need an Office of Fair Trading :rolls:

When i was told ‘that’ (as above) about miele i was thoroughly disgusted! Ok, everyone needs a bit of profit or it wouldnt be worth trading but to take such a ‘big bite of the pie’ is taking the piddle 👿

Well done to ken and others who have pushed to this along
