    Re: Hoover AS130-001

It’s beginning to look like this machine may be made from a Quattro and a Six.As I cant fit the old type pressure chamber-its blocked off, perhaps the p/switch from a Six may be the answer.I’ll have to dig into the history of this machine – I bet its somebody’s “quality reconditioned” although the customer says it did work OK.

Not changed the drum assembly. The customers original complaint was that she was getting very poor wash results not surprising with no water getting into the drum.

Re: Manor House WKD 4BL d/w

I thought this one had gone away when I sucked air through my teeth and quoted a silly price but customer wants to chase it up.(the integrated door is a strange size).
The only numbers on the timer are:
    V71I000D3-1997
    300802 003891
I thought most Merloni machine parts started with a 51number.It says made in EU on the plate but I think its Spanish.

    Re: Public retail forum?

Just a thought. How about a BER site in the public forum -statistics provided by engineers.
i.e. type and make of appliance
    age of appliance

It should make interesting reading for the public to see how many under 2year old Ariston/indesit,Servis etc are written off!

    Re: WMA bearing change

I have just split a late model tub the machine had fallen off the back of a wagon -literally, the top was all squashed and tub cracked. Smaller diameter shaft than WMA, smaller bearings and cheaper looking seal.Wonder if theyre fitting this on the full range.

    Thanks Chris.

Wow! I’ve perused this document the machine is one with 4 contacts to the ntc -an inbuilt turbidity sensor,(an infra red feedback device to tell you how dirty the pots are) plus the temperature sensor- I’m impressed.

I’ve seen this question asked before on here and wondered what the outcome was, it would nice to get the feedback as it might be a common fault. I bet theres a Zanussi engineer who’s had loads of these and fixed them in 10 minutes.

Suspect main Board (relay) or ntc device.

Re: Amusing Anecdotes & Other Tales

This is an apocryphal tale about an “easy job on a Friday night”

About 15 years ago.pre-mobile phone days I went to a Newpol (remember them) and quoted £25 for a drum pulley-knowing I’d got one back at the workshop. I said I’d call back that evening about 7.00pm.

My wife was going to the theatre that night in her car with her friends in the same town where the job was-so being clever I said she could drop me off with the pulley,I’d fix the machine and go and have a few pints with the lads with cash from the job.(The customer promised to pay cash).Wife could pick me up from pub after the show.

Nice summer’s evening T-shirt and jeans, wife dropped me off.I had the pulley,13milly spanner, stubby screwdriver and receipt already written-just enough for the job.

Job was in the kitchen, the lady went to watch TV in the next room.I put the pulley on and tightened it up-I thought I’ll just give it an extra tweak so I tapped it with the coal hammer that was lying on the floor. The end of the stud fell off followed by the pulley!I couldn’t do anything -no toolbox.I was hopping around the kitchen like Basil Faulty on my haunches clutching my head ,turned around and the lady was stood behind me.
Exit stage left-no money for beer, and had to walk 4 miles home and yes it started to rain.
P.s. Fixed it (sheepishly) the following day.

    Re: CDA 494 Dishwasher

Thanks nwar these parts are hard to describe over the phone -had a lady once try to describe a grill element over the Phone”it starts at one end,has a few squiggles and finishes at the other end”.Yes!
This d/w is mine for reconditioning, these parts are all that is wrong with it.

Parts in reverse order of assembly(parts broken starred*)

    1.Lower circulation arm.
2.Twin plastic pipes to the top circulation arm.
*3.Retaining cover with two holes for above pipes-lugs broken.
    4.Sump filter.
*5.Complex moulding with rubber gasket held with 4 screws encloses Chamber to circulation pump.lower arm sits on this.
