ParticipantRe: MAYTAG WATER FILTER
Hi Ali
I have now retired but I used to have a trade account with Pozzani water filters online.
They sell genuine or the own make of filters to fit every model of fridge or other water filters.
There own filters are good and cheap to.
Always handy if you need a filter and normally fast delivery.

You would be better of buying the service kit it comes with the evaporator. Heater, sensor, fuse etc.
You just remove the parts from the evaporator and fit them to the old evaporator.
P.M. Brian. R600a he should have the kit in stock as I have now retired I no longer have the part number available.Bob

Most likely fault Fridge evaporator sensor faulty.
You can buy a sensor kit to replace it it comes with all the instructions.
You could purchase from the WTA shop or Miele Spares.

Sliced lemons in a couple of teaspoons of water in a dish to stop them drying out are good to absorb the smells.
If anything has managed to enter the insulation then you will not get rid of the smell so check to see if any contamination has entered any joints near the insulation.

Looking at the picture there is a small pin like piece of plastic on the right of the squire opening.
There is normally the same on the left so you need to check it has not broken off

Giving the low rates of pay to carry out the mods you can understand why some of the engineers cut corners as they would have a job to make money.
That’s the reason I did not take on the work.

It’s the lever for the solenoid at the back to change from ice cube dispersing to crushed ice.
You will need to take off the rear cover to refit it

ParticipantRe: appliance fires
Last man working on appliance can be held responsible if an appliance catches fire so if fridge freezers were that amount of risk I would have retired from the trade a lot earlier than I did.
As Ken said anything will burn even the twin towers with all the safety systems installed cannot prevent the idiots.

More & More electric recliners now on sale 😀
Not many people put candles under the fridge unless they do it to cure low ambient 😀
Most Electrcal faults should cause the trip to operate but the use of R600a in fridges does not help.
Hence Mercedes refusing the EU telling them to use R600a in the car aircon.
I think a lot of fires would be prevented if consumers followed the manufacturers guidelines and also registered there products so any recalls on faults could be put right.
More risk of being stabbed in London at the moment.
Or we could always blame the Russians.

ParticipantRe: appliance fires
Having fitted hundreds of compressors to fridge freezers and the heat involved in brazing them on it takes a lot of heat for the insulation to catch fire.
There is no more risk with a open back fridge freezer than any three piece suite or any home furnishing.
Let’s see if they can develope a full metal jacket for home furnishings.
Probably more risk of fires with people falling asleep on home furnishing than fridge freezers catching fire.

The sensor is a common fault on this model glad you were able to repair.
A system fault e.g. Low on Gas or poor compressor can cause a fridge to get too cold but the wet wall would only freeze near the top and not even across the back.
This is because it would not get cold enough near the sensor or stat to turn off the compressor.Hope this helps you understand how a fridge can get too cold with a system fault.

It was good value for the money with all food included.
Bar prices good.
It’s a case of if you want to have the best venue then you have to be prepared to pay the price.
As Ken said it does the job and good value for money.
I booked a double room and paid the extra as the double rooms are better than the single rooms but still thought it was value for the money.
The food I had was good and you could have as much as you wanted so no complaints from me.
