As Tony has said you have to remove the PCB at the bottom right hand corner to connect the sensor on your model.

Not easy if you are not an engineer.

The fitting of the sensor new cover is not difficult if you follow the instructions.

If you do decide to fit the sensor yourself then I would advise you to remove the PCB carefully and also take photos as you go in case you pull any leads off so you will know where to re connect them.

If you have never fitted one it can be difficult to refit the clear plastic cover to protect the connections from water or damp.

A sensor kit should cure the problem.

It comes with detailed fitting instructions.

If you want a mid range price Gorenje are good and most models come with a five year manufacturing guarantee.

It’s the luck of the draw with any manufacturer as you can get problems with any fridge freezer now as more have moved away from simple systems and a lot more to go wrong.

I have worked on and repaired nearly every model out there and the build quality of Gorenje is good value for a mid range fridge freezer.

AEG are part of the Electrolux group and some models are identical but the Aeg are normally higher retail price.

It’s strange but the AEG seam to give less problems than the identical Electrolux models and the quality of build seams better.

BEKO are good value now and spares are cheap compared to any other manufacturer if you get any problems.l

At the end of the day it’s about whatever model or manufacturer design of fridge suits your needs for storage and looks.

And the value of any offers at the time you are purchasing.

Re: samsung rs21 water bottle replaced

If you replaced the water tank with the pipes the correct way around and no leaks then it is just an air lock in the system.

You just need to draw of several litres of water to clear the air lock.

Plug something else into the socket e.g. Hairdryer, Kettle to see if you have power to the socket.

If you have then check the fuse in the freezer plug or try an extension lead to plug the fridge into.

Re: Samsung RS31DCNS not cooling at all

It is most likely the defrost sensor then.

Turn it off and allow it to defrost for 48 hours with the doors open to allow it to fully defrost.

If you feel capable then replace the defrost sensor.

If you don’t turn it back on after it has defrosted and see how long it takes for the problem to return.

Re: Samsung RS31DCNS not cooling at all

When you turn it on are you getting any noises e.g. Fan motor working and compressor running.

If it does not run it could be the sensor, but if it makes a noise e.g. Fan motor it may have a refrigerant leak or blockage in the refrigeration system if it was not stored or transported correctly.

    Re: Fault with fridge freezer

I had a few with liners blown on this model.

So it is a system fault low on Gas or liner blown.

As it is not an expensive model I would say it is B.E.R.

    Re: Fault with fridge freezer

It looks like low on refrigerant or a blockage in the system.

You also need to check if the wet wall has blown.
Or if it is a built in model check to see if it has an external cooling fan and if it is working.

A model number would help as if it is a frost free fridge freezer there could be a fault with the defrost system in the freezer compartment and could cause the same problem

Best guess is the first two or wet wall blown.

But you cannot tell from just a picture without a model or being able to check it on a visit.

Most likely a B.E.R. if it is a system fault.

The model number would help but it sounds like one of the fans could be the problem.

Re: Lights in John Lewis JLSS2009

John Lewis models work with a magnet built into the door on the top.
If you reset the light so it’s on then with the fridge door open use a magnet just underneath the display panel and move from side to side near the centre and you should see the light go out.

Re: Lights in John Lewis JLSS2009

The door on the fridge may have dropped so it is not operating the light switch.

The light then cuts out on the thermal cutout and only comes back on after a reset.

The door will have to be raised with some nylon washers on the hinge pin.

Re: Samsung side by side RS21DCNS

The fan will be frozen in the fridge.

It would take at least 48 hours with the doors open and turned off to defrost.

Use the search on this site to find the reason and cure for the problem as a defrost would only be a temporary fix.
