It’s a good chance it has built up ice and not fully defrosted.
Try and get someone to look after your food and turn it off at the mains and leave both doors open for 48hours.
When you turn it back on it should get back to normal after a couple of hours.
If the problem returns after a few weeks then a problem with the defrost system or the insulation behind the rear cover in the freezer compartment.

It could be the compressor not pumping or it has lost the refrigerant.
Both faults are beyond economical repair on a table top fridge or freezer.
    Not a DIY repair.

If you had oil near the compressor it sounds like an external leak most likely on the pipe work that runs in the water collection tray.
This should be able to be found and repaired as its rare for an internal leak on a RS21.
But seeing how much food cost to replace, it may be better to replace the fridge / Freezer as American type are a lot cheaper now and a RS21 is an old model now.

In the fridge behind the veg boxes is a precooling tank for the water, this is most likely frozen.

Happy Christmas to everyone and there families this will be the strangest Christmas without the family meeting up, but thanks to technology we can meet up virtually.
Stay safe everyone and don’t put family members at risk for one day.
I will miss the February meet up with everyone but hopefully the meetings can take place again in 2022.
My Son, and his partner work in the care industry and both caught Covid as well as his Daughter / my Granddaughter.
Luckily they all had mild symptoms and soon recovered.

    Happy Christmas and New Year,
Keep safe and good luck for the future

Normally a fault code label under the cover for the main PCB on top the unit but the most common fault is the fan motor in the freezer compartment.

If it had an oil like substance then it is possible you had a refrigerant leak this may be the reason the compressor seized due to loss of refrigerant oil.

It sounds like the compressor has seized and is unlikely it is the relay as it clicks on and off.
if a relay fails the The compressor normally remains silent..
As the fridge is 10 plus years old in my opinion it would be better to purchase a new one.
If you replaced the compressor then the other parts are over ten years old could give problems later.
Plus other things to consider are why did the compressor fail was it just age or was there a blockage in the system or a refrigerant leak.
You also need to factor in the cost of the food if the repair did not last long if it failed due to a blockage or leak.
I would put the 140 euros towards a new one.
I hope this helps you decide to repair or replace.

As the insulation is soft it will just allow ice to form so you will need to replace the rear panel if it’s still available.
Try the WTA shop or personal message R600a who may have one.

I agree with Dave it sounds like the compressor is faulty time for a new fridge.

Compressor seized. Not a relay fault , It will need a new compressor but as it’s not an expensive freezer it would be beyond economical repair.

No problem for you then plus you can charge more for a repair.

Gas safe appliance engineers are becoming a rare breed.

Keep safe in these worrying times
