    It sounds like the compressor is seized. This is not a D I Y job and is not cheap to to replace.

    If disconnecting the battery did not work. Disconnect again and hold down the on off button for 30 seconds then reconnect the battery

    The freezer will be set on fast freez a snowflake sign will be in the display you need to turn of the fast freeze button and the snow flake sign will turn off. You may find this has now reset as it should turn off after 24 hours.
    The fridge may be on vacation setting and you just need to press the fridge temperture button to reset the temperture if this does not work and the fridge does not start to get cold then the freezer still has ice blocking the air flow to the fridge.
    If the freezer iced up it is most likley the no frost evaporator sensor is faulty.

    I went to a customer who had a Hotpoint frost free fridge/frezzer.
    The customer asked if it could be repaired and I advised the cost and said it may be possible to repair as the system was blocked.
    I cleared the blockage and all was working well.
    2 weeks later I had a call the same fault had returned.
    I advised I would return free of charge to repair.
    In total it was about 3hours labour as on the second visit I was unable to clear the blockage and the appliance was BER.
    The customer said she was unhappy as I said it could be repaired and wanted a full refund.
    I advised I would only refund half of the repair cost to cover my cost Gas parts etc.
    She was still unhappy as she would have purchased a new one if she thought it could not be repaired.
    I advised I would send a cheque in the post for half of the cost and left.
    I had second thoughts about this as I like to keep a good name and sent her a letter advising her I included a cheque for a full refund as I like all of my customers to be happy with my service and I would cover the cost of parts and labour myself.
    I did not know she was big property owner at the time and since this call she has given me about 10 repairs all with prompt payment and she has also passed my number to other property developers who have all given me lots of calls.
    So sometimes keeping your good name is worth the refund.

    If the compressor is COLD the most likely fault is the electronic module.
    If the compressor is hot and not running then most likely compressor faulty.
    Both faults are not cheap to repair.
    So maybe better to consider a new fridge freezer.

    ALSO CHECK THE MAGNET ON TOP OF THE FRIDGE DOOR IS STILL FITTED AS CUSTOMERS SOMETIMES REMOVE IT.

    Try bypassing the reed switch in the freezer as this is most most likely the fault.
    Make sure you have the unit unpluged from the mains as wires stay live or you can open the fridge door as this cuts of the power to the reed switch.
    If this is the problem you can leave it bypassed until you can order and obtain a replacement.

    Hi Buttons like malile I have only just seen this posting.
    It is like Malile said the fault is the no frost evaporator probe ( defrost sensor ) the old type is flat and cable tied to the evaporator near the top left hand side and can be joined and then covered with heat shrink. make sure the appliance is unpluged from the mains as this part stays live 240 volts even if you have the appliance turned of on the pcb.
    The new type are round just in case you think any replacement you buy is not the same

    AS WASHMAN SAID YOUR FREEZER IS FINE YOU WILL NEED TO LEAVE IT APPROX 10 MINS BEFORE OPENING THE DOOR AFTER CLOSING IT, FOR THE PRESURE TO EQUALIZE, THEN THE DOOR WILL OPEN MORE EASILY.

    I HAVE THE CITY & GUILDS SAFE HANDLING FOR CHARGING REFRIDGERANT AND RECOVERING REFRIDGERANT WILL I NEED THE WHITE GOODS AS WELL ❓

    SAME HERE SENT TO BOTH BUT ONLY HAD A REPLY FROM ZOLFO COOPER TO SAY NO FURTHER ACTION BEING TAKEN AS NO PROOF OF DEPT CAN BE SUPPLIED DUE TO MFI SOFTWARE LICENCE STOPPED DUE TO NONE PAYMENT TO SOFTWARE COMPANY. 😆
