    Re: diplomat apm6855 fridge freezer

Inside the freezer compartment about half way up on the right hand side is a small plastic cover.
Make sure the fridge door is closed and put a magnet against this cover if the fan is not working when the magnet is used the most common fault is the fan motor.
It is a common fault on the later APM6855 for the fan motor to fail.

    Re: Diplomat APM6855 leaking water

The drain for water to run away in the freezer will be iced up.

If you move your food to another fridge freezer and turn of
Your fridge freezer for 48 hours with the doors open the drain will thaw out.

If the problem returns then you will need to call an engineer out as the defrost heater will have lifted up from the drain allowing the drain to freeze.

Thanks to all who have replied the fault was the fan motor as this is a common fault I fitted an alternative I had on the van this should make it more reliable

It is working fine with the alternative fan motor

I have now found I can get the parts from Beko if I need any in future

    Thanks

Sometimes the wiring connector to the display PCB can corode but you will have to dismantle the display to check this.

Re: Do Samsung check if agents are refrigeration trained

The customer had his second visit today from the owner of the company to give his opinion on what his engineer had done.

He does not know but the customer has an understanding of refrigeration and he said the engineer made himself look stupid.

He said he had run ins with myself before and I am mainly COMERCIAL not domestic this is a lie.

He said to the customer his engineer had used a gauge but it was a very small gauge.

He also said it is normal to sometimes suck in some air to the system and this happens all the time and it is not harmfull.

The customer has said to me if the engineer used a small gauge then you must need a microscope to see it.

The engineer told him if he wants it fixed it will cost him £312

The customer is sending Samsung a strong letter along with my report.

I will keep you updated with the results.

Re: Do Samsung check if agents are refrigeration trained

Yes I know how to clear systems with OFN.

But can you see a Samsung agent spending the time required to do this correctly on the rates they are paid.

I now know the agent who carried out this job and he is not going to be pleased his new engineer done this.

If I had known it was his company I would have phoned him before doing a report then Samsung may not have to be involved.

I hope he sorts it with Samsung for the customer.

The life of this model is not very long anyway as the cabinets are burning out near the defrost heater damaging the insulation.

If a repair is done then the life of the appliance is reduced on a domestic as possible weakening of joints and R600a is a flammable gas and I would not like to take on Samsungs responsibility for it.

You have to limit your liability in this day and age as the last person to work on the appliance is responsible.
