ParticipantRe: Hotpoint D/W strange leak
Have had a loose spray arm that squirted water in a jet out of the side of the bush it spins on. But customer claimed that the arm kept flying off after wash. Failing a perspex door/ goggles snorkel the only way to try is to replace. You seem to be half way there by removal.

The pipe may be blocked that feeds from the drain hole to the pot on top of the compressor.

Check it straight after a completed cycle without using the sink. The hose should go down to the spigot not up to it or the contents of your sink will end up in your dishwasher.

ParticipantRe: Integrated washer APM 8521 won’t spin
The machine may have a sludged up water level control system. Therefore when it is empty of water the machine thinks it may have water in it and will not spin. Similarly it can stick so it thinks it has water in it and does not fill when the program is started. The heater then comes on and blows, like a kettle with no water in it. Regular boil washes may prevent this sludge buildup from happening again but the fault needs to be cured before the heater is replaced.
