Also note the 30mm back halve will have 30mm stamped/embossed on it just behind the pulley, however this is difficult to see whist the tub is in situ.

Common fault is the geared motor not aligning with magnet.

Not quite sure what you mean by this? Called back to check, motor and flap tun freely on start up and stop in open position. evaporator sensor ( yellow one ) reads 6Kohms at room temperature which seems a bit low if its a normal ntc but i don’t know what it should read?

does the cooling fan on the compressor still run ?

cant find that model , but if it has a damper behind the evap cover ( to blow cold air up to the fridge ) , check this is operating freely – when power is established , it should rotate couple of times, if not, unit will shut down .( they can jam or just fail )

No cooling fan on compressor (from memory) but everything stops. There is a damper flap behind cover, i will call back and check but as it only runs for about 20 secs can i be sure it has had time to react?

Re: hotpoint FF40 lights flashing and beeping

If memory serves me right (theres a first time for everything) i think these initially do a defrost when started, so you may just have to be patient. On the older models you could bypass this by having the fridge door open when you turn it on.

Maybe but i don’t think so, compressor runs well for a while and doesn’t appear to be cutting out on overload. Power beiing cut off at module. Thinking possibly module fault or more likely module reading fault code condition. Anyone know samsung fault codes ?

Is it the model with the timer and module combined? If so i have had several of these over the years and nearly always timer/module fault. As stated above by leavemetogetonwithit (great name )see EMW. They do an exchange unit at a reasonable cost which uses better components.

    Hi Bob
I have tech note 004FR-09/20/2004 updated feb. 2007 which shows dimensions in above post. Obviously once i had started i opened up the hole a bit but had to know when to stop as there was nothing in this area. Any extra info would be greatly appreciated.

Loopey, thanks for your attachments.Much appreciated. HOWEVER, went back armed with instructions. Measured 168mm down and 172mm in and dig out insulation. Guess what, nothing there !!!!
Are there any other positions it might be ?
Starting to wish i hadn’t seen this one

If its 30mm it will say so on the tub rear half behind the pulley. can be difficult to see with tub in situ.

check under the lid there is a black panel running front to back on the left hand side. Remove panel and you will find a fuse holder inline on the loom. I think its a 6.3amp from memory

If it the type i’m thinking of, Check for air leaks around baffle housing and baffle motor/ flap operation.Flap should close when fridge down to temperature. All housed in removable light/ vent unit on left side of fridge roof.

    Re: Zanussi Washing Machine ZWF1621

Hi, i have a ZWF1427 doing the same thing. Generally sticks on 1.53 time reading,( but never when i watch it).No fault codes showing, just stops. I have tested pretty much everything but can find no faults ?
I would also be interested in how to access diagnostic’s as it seems slightly different from the older versions.
